Your worst problem is going to be operating a sensitive microphone in close proximity to a radio transmitter. That combination is usually deadly and the reason higher-end surveillance systems are shielded.

Re: ART USB Dual Pre digital artifact
Do you have the "wrong" side of the ART turned down? If you don't plug anything in, a microphone preamplifier is a little radio receiver.

Re: Background media bleeds into recording track - sometimes
Did you try to record YouTube or internet music or shows right about the time it started working funny? The settings for internet recording are different from live recording. Make sure you are recording from your headset combo (an actual thing) and not a fake device like Stereo-Mix or What-U-Hear. I...

we ant separate tracks even though we are playing together. What happens back at the Behringer? When one performer plays do you get one set of bouncing volume lights, or both? Are you split left and right at the Behringer headphone connection? If you're using earbuds or smaller headphones with an 1...

Re: ART USB Dual Pre digital artifact
That sure looks like the cable TV system. Good luck getting them to service it. Either Comcast or Time-Warner is the the most hated corporation in America. I think the other is second. They're not supposed to radiate. Companies are under strict rules as to how much radio trash they can produce. That...

I know this is bordering on Too Much Information, but Audio CDs play from the middle out. So the outer edge is the least valuable real estate. That's where I label it.

Re: question about the cd burning side of things.
A proper Audio CD with zero gap selected is intended to play straight through to the end. You can skip forward to where the gaps should have been had you made them. The gaps are still there, they're just zero. Skip forward to the beginning of song number four. OK!! As above, you probably should not ...

Re: Multipiste track editing
I don't think I've ever seen a Select > Invert like that. If it's only one track and the sound isn't critical, I'd be tempted to copy the one live track, blank everything and then paste it back.
You can't use UNDO. Audacity has sequential UNDO. You can't skip around.

CD-R. The CD-RW was a good idea that never caught on. I keep on one a shelf to show people as a technological curiosity. CD-R will support multiple different flavors. You want Audio CD . That's not just a CD-R that happens to have music on it. Audio CD is a very specific, special format. You get an ...
