I know this is bordering on Too Much Information, but Audio CDs play from the middle out. So the outer edge is the least valuable real estate. That's where I label it.

A proper Audio CD with zero gap selected is intended to play straight through to the end. You can skip forward to where the gaps should have been had you made them. I don't think I've ever seen a Select > Invert like that. If it's only one track and the sound isn't critical, I'd be tempted to copy the one live track, blank everything and then paste it back.

You can't use UNDO. Audacity has sequential UNDO. You can't skip around.
