That's the Quality of the filter. The higher the quality, the sharper and more surgical the notch, but the more likely it is to distort the show. If you make it too wide and sloppy, it starts deleting parts of the show that should be there.

Re: Find silence and then extend it how??
But not manually! Automation generally works by automating a manual process. Can you do it manually? What steps do you need to do to get there? Is there any way to do it without being human? What I mean is, do you have to know language content to find the pauses? If the pauses are almost zero, or i...

Re: Audio runs out of sync
I'm sure you noticed that given desirable recording environments at each location, this works far better than trying to capture Skype. It's also readily expandable to multiple performers. It's not Tempo. It's actually Speed. So select one of the two performances, do the math to figure out how much l...

Re: Unable to save when disk space low
Mac drive and with 3 projects open, 2 were already mixed down to a single stereo track and the other open had 10 or less tracks when started getting the low disk space error message. Re: Unable to save original .aup file
I am not able to save the project as .aup format. Did you put punctuation marks in your filename? Dates? Use the ISO standard for dates. Today is 2017-02-03. DO NOT use slashmarks. Underscore and dash are OK. A note. This is an Audacity Project. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic...

Right. But that just points to the critical nature of design down at these sound levels. Each part has to be intentionally selected for noise and behavior. One of the reasons why metal film resistors were invented.
Oh, and make the finished device cheap. I'll wait.

Re: Unable to save when disk space low
One of the Audacity versions (2.1.2??) defaults to saving work in /Applications. Now there's a bad idea. I do everything on the Desktop and mop up later. Yeah, that UNDO thing is a shock. I use FireWire drives and I can go back and forth between them seamlessly. For a long time I ran The Mac from a ...

If you crank up your Plot Spectrum size too far, you will lose the peaks in a blizzard of noise. Scroll the graphic.
