Re: Click Problem 5 Minutes into Recording
using my macbook to record us and it worked just fine. Built-in microphone? I've done that. I shot a temporary sound track for a TV commercial like that. How far apart are the ticks? If it's a mono track (one blue wave), drag-select up to 20 seconds of the clicking, export it as WAV (Microsoft) 16-...

Re: Not Passing ACX Check Analyzer Issue #2
We're baaaaack. Your test for this overload problem is yell (Do Not Blow) into the microphone. WOOOOOOF!! A normal microphone system will create tall blue waves all the way from 1.0 up to 1.0 down. The sound meters should bounce all the way to the right and turn red. You are intentionally stressing ...

Re: Not Passing ACX Check Analyzer Issue #2
The submitted clip is AudioBook compliant just as it is. But there is something wrong with it and I suspect the AudioBook people will flag it right away. See where none of the blue waves ever get taller than 0.5 up and down? Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 17.25.59.png That's sound distortion. If you zoom...

Re: Vocal Remove/Clean Edit?
Is it impossible with Audacity? Yes. If the Audacity tutorials failed then the YouTube "by hand" instructions aren't going to work either. Did you try both Vocal Removal and Vocal Reduction? Audacity has two different ones. The general rule is we can't take a mixed performance apart into ...

Re: Not Passing ACX Check Analyzer Issue #2
It's not quite that easy. I'm working in the field right this second, and I think I'm missing one of my software tools... [email protected]#$%. You have a distortion problem on top of ACX-Check conformance troubles. Nice voice, though. As we go. I need to write a summary of this instead of dumping you straight int...

Re: Removing Narration
You're dead. It may have two blue waves, but they're identical. It's two-track Mono. The vocal management tools don't work on Mono. If you play the piece, see that the bouncing green sound meters bounce exactly the same ? Vocal Remover and Vocal Reducer only work if the two sound meters are differen...

Re: question about the cd burning side of things.
You can keep it from getting worse. Once you get the music, do the production in Audacity and Export the work as WAV (Microsoft), 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. Then dump your WAV files into Windows Media and burn. The music quality inside an Audio CD is the same quality as the export. Stereo is optional in...

Re: Not Passing ACX Check Analyzer Issue #2
ACX requires the file measure between -23dB and -18dB RMS and have -3dB peak values and a maximum -60dB noise floor. That's not quite correct. Yes, you have to hit RMS (Loudness) between -18dB and -23dB, the other two are open-ended extremes. Noise no louder than -60dB when you stop talking and no ...

Yeah. That should have done something, just maybe not sound very good. I expect Change Speed to sound perfect once you hit the correct compensation.

Re: Unable to save when disk space low
Lots of free, clean drive space is required for any real-time program. Try editing video on a cramped system. There was the idea that Macs lean on their UNIX heritage and clean up as they go? That's what makes UnDelete such a problem. That and the basic OS is not as succeptable to fragmenting. But l...
