Re: Audio cut off after Loudness Normalization
If that's too horrifying, there is a one-button-push way to do this show. Do it on Zoom and get Zoom to filter, process, and mix the show for you and send you the sound file later. You might do that anyway and compare the two masters. Contrast the quality difference with the hours you spent making y...

Re: Audio cut off after Loudness Normalization
I think I recognize the recommendation that multi-point podcast recordings should be done at each location instead of trying to do it after transmission. It gives you "clean" voice tracks assuming everyone did a reasonable job of recording. It does give you one oddball problem that live re...

Re: Audio cut off after Loudness Normalization
Note if you overloaded a microphone in the course of recording the show—flat-topping or clipping—red lights on your mixer—you're dead. No processing can rescue that. Go record it again.

Re: Audio cut off after Loudness Normalization
The flat tops and bottoms on all the waves? That's what happens when you apply processing to multiple tracks that have wild volume variations through the course of the show. You can get the same thing with an audiobook if you decide to lean into the microPHONE FOR ONE SENTENCE ANd then sit back as n...

Re: Audio cut off after Loudness Normalization
Audiobook Mastering is designed to gently process a single voice reading a story. It does that very well.
I don't think Mastering put the holes in the performance, though. That's much more like processing during the recording.
This is Windows, right? Do you use Zoom or Skype (or both)?

Re: how to mix vocals for singing covers the right way?
Step one. Stop using MP3. MP3 is a compressed, processed format. Every time you make an MP3 from an MP3, the sound quality gets worse and you can't stop it. You can avoid a lot of those issues by Exporting as WAV (microsoft) 16-bit. Studios go for higher qualities, but they don't have to worry about...

Re: Having trouble with vocal audio....
I didn’t have this issue on a Mac. There may be a clue floating around there. Macs, in general, have a lot less automatic sound processing than Windows. You might want to go into the Windows control panels > Sound > Recording and see what's running. Also, do you use Skype, Zoom or other chat or com...

Re: Help! Lost all audio in AUP after Audacity crashed
I save often because it crashes all the time. The ideal if your current show fails, is to open the last protection backup and proceed from there. The file names would be: Thursday Before Lunch Thursday After Lunch Friday After Breakfast , etc. Not " My One Valuable Show " with a million d...

Re: the recording in windows wasapi wont work
Skype or Zoom users can run into this. The poster didn't say what the show was or where it came from. So we're guessing. All this is assuming the music supplier isn't actively fighting you.

Re: the recording in windows wasapi wont work
ofcourse there is activate playback stream There may not be. Audacity gets stuck like that when it's expecting audio data to show up...and it doesn't. You can have that condition if the sound source or music supply is expecting a "go" signal and it never gets one. All this is assuming the...
