Re: aup file and _data file not recognizing each other.

Is the AUP file blank? Open it in a text editor (but don't save anything).

Dig through that and note it says projname=" That should be the perfect name of your show.

Re: roll and punch in audacity

The punch-in accuracy will be off because of that "one computer late" thing. Plus control latency. Audacity doesn't really "know" what you're doing. That and Time Shift Tool can only be executed easily from the left and you have to remember to select all succeeding tracks as you ...

Re: Unable to save original .aup file

not allow me to save the .aup file in any case to an external hard disk drive?
It doesn't. I can save to eternal, well-behaved FireWire drives. Jury's out on thunderbolt drives. What it objects to is ratty USB drives. The video people have trouble with those, too.

Re: Checking For ACX Coimpliance

It could be said that using one of the stand-alone recorders is preferable because they have no fans and make 0.00 noise. There was recent theatrical radio production of a woman who dragged her small, personal recorder and a duvet/quilt into a hotel closet to record a chapter or two...and locked her...

there are several online recording sites that should be able to produce a decent recording that will meet specs. You...... What? Nobody wrote that you have to shoot and process your voice on the same machine. I've been able to shoot respectable voice tracks with Zoom and Olympus recorders. I have a...

Re: Not Passing ACX Check Analyzer Issue #2

ACX has a failure called "Overprocessing." It's always possible to meet technical standards by beating up your reading in post production. The goal is correct it without it sounding like you corrected it. And this is the magic place we warn you to use good speakers or headphones. Once you ...

Re: ART USB Dual Pre digital artifact

Smashing SetRMS and Limiter together? Those are relatively fixed tools and they're always used together and exactly the same way. Then all you have to worry about is noise.

I'm betting Noise can't be automated. AutoNoise isn't a simple plugin. It's an interactive career move.

Re: Not Passing ACX Check Analyzer Issue #2

There's a movie-making joke that you can't photograph or record an earthquake, so you always get the picture of the wine glass vibrating.

Always.

It's a Hollywood law.

Please be clear if the thunder rattles the windows, you're dead because the window sound will go into your recording, not the thunder. Al...
