Re: Audio files at different bitrates won't sync
You should inspect the two files, but Audacity doesn't have Clip INFO and neither does Windows. You can use Media INFO, but there's a trick to downloading it without the commercials. https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download Here it is. Re: Audio files at different bitrates won't sync
I predict...you got other problems.
I opened a 48000 sound file in Audacity 2.1.2 and imported a 44100 sound file and the two equal duration files sync perfectly.

Re: Audio files at different bitrates won't sync
Are we in Audacity 2.1.2? I'm surprised Audacity messed up the Time between these two files. Most video editors (48000) "know" how to automatically and completely in the background use both sample rates. Desperation Method (there may be other ways to do this). Assume you want everything in...

Re: Tascam 16x08... or 4x4 & 2x2 (multi-source)
I can't see it being needed. I can't either. Boxes of trash are good. We like trash. I turned out two terrific sound shoots from a storage closet with boxes of paper files at work. Garages are not terrible places to record for the same reason. Audacity doesn't Save sound files. It only saves Projec...

Where are the friends? Are you all sitting around a table drinking tea?trying to record a podcast with friends.
Are you running a game at the same time?

Re: Is there an easier way to analyze periodic spikes?
That gives me a spike twice every time my engine rotates. You have a two cylinder pickup? I guess you could have six coils. You can get there from time. Measure the time between two spikes and divide that into 1. .001 seconds into 1 is a thousand cycles, 1KHz. Pick the time between the first and fi...

Re: Recording with Zedi10FX and Audacity
That's scrambled. It's not unusual for the built-in microphone of a laptop to be able to mount either Stereo or Mono. It's easy to program and it's a captive device, so no surprises. you don't actually get stereo because there's only one microphone. You get two identical tracks—two-track mono. If yo...

of anything over three hours in length? There used to be a 13-hour time limit, but I think that's gone in Audacity 2.1.2. You should probably restart the computer and let it settle before you press record for the performance. I should be able to adjust them in real-time via the mixer board I probab...

something along those lines? It's good to get all those other words in there as well because they all help predict the amount of data you're going to have to juggle. Even if you do a plain mono voice recording, the "size" of the work inside Audacity is going to be larger than straight sou...

Re: Vocal Isolation
I have it now. It's still mono. Audacity voice tools don't work in mono. As above, there are special purpose programs for jobs like this, but they're not easy to use or cheap. It might be cheaper to get Will Arnett to read it for you live. Or write Warner Brothers. They may have the vocals in an iso...
