Re: Advantages to Using a Condenser Mike and Interface
I use the condenser mike and interface. And while they do mention, very briefly, using a Blue Snowball to read, the illustration features a Rode NT-1 analog microphone and Fast Track Solo interface. The combination a mere $400 usd not counting the stand, laptop, external hard drive and cables. Ever...

Re: How to avoid sound discrepancies on a cardiode condenser
Missed one. I have an On-Stage Stands microphone stand and boom. That's what's holding up the left-hand microphone in this shoot. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/JMASoundShoot-650.jpg It has a broad tripod bottom instead of a heavy "Atlas" base. That means it's stable in operation, ...

Re: How to avoid sound discrepancies on a cardiode condenser
Before I go dredging through microphone positioning, etc, the 2020 is missing one feature that would help a lot with maintaining shot to shot consistency. It doesn't have a headphone connection. There's just nothing like hearing yourself and being accustomed to hearing and knowing exactly what you s...

Re: How to avoid sound discrepancies on a cardiode condenser
Are you using the included desk stand? I would hang it from a boom stand in front of your nose. You won't have to move so much between page turns and it's less likely to pick up lip pops. I got more comments when I get home. Other elves may join in.

Re: USB CAD u37 microphone - settings?
Low volume is designed into most USB microphones. Low volume causes occasional complaints and steps in post production to meet show goals. High volume causes immediate, fatal distortion and the urge to send the microphone back. Since most USB microphones have zero metering or other volume indicator,...

You still have to post a sample of your work. We have to know where we are starting from.

Re: USB CAD u37 microphone - settings?
Is the goal AudioBook reading? If it is you will always have to do something to it. The recommended voice volumes for recording and submission for AudioBook are different. Make sure the top switch is set to 0 and not -10. It's a side-fire microphone, so make sure you're speaking into the company log...
