Re: Low volume on one channel.
It is always a good idea to correct any problems as close to the source as you can. Sometimes, post production corrections cause other problems. Select the track by clicking just above MUTE. Use the drop-down menu on the left > Split Stereo Track ( not To Mono ). Select the low track and apply filte...

Re: Using Scarlett 2i2
Audacity can only recognize one device at a time.
It can do multi-channel. So if you have many different sources, you can use a multi-channel interface to record them in Audacity.

As of this version, Audacity can only play stereo.

Re: pipe organ recording
Audacity doesn't apply effects, filters, or corrections during recording and it's probably a safe bet the microphone doesn't. The preamp and any associated drivers probably don't, but unless you shut them down, Windows tries to apply voice, environment and echo corrections. http://manual.audacitytea...

Re: help on editing my band live jamming record
It's massively too loud and overloaded. I recently captured a club music system in the middle of an evening performance on my phone. It's dense, but it didn't overload and it still sounds roughly like it did when I was standing there. Back to step one. Which APP did you use and how did you do the ac...

Re: Recording Level Automatically Compressed - Can't Clip
The Behringer UFO-202 is a phono preamp with no adjustments. There are no reports of it ever overloading, but if it did, you would have to transfer that record some other way.

Re: Recording Level Automatically Compressed - Can't Clip
there is no hard clipping / digital clipping / signal above +1 or below -1. That's the digital system overloading. You can create analog overload distortion before the computer gets to it. This is an analog microphone system overloading by adjusting the mixer wrong. The tops of the blue waves look ...

Re: problem burning to disc
We're clear you have two different problems? This latest problem is not a burn error. This is unknown but probably a production or sound file fault. And just because I haven't been depressing enough, Windows 10 is not an upgrade. It's a whole new system and your equipment, devices, microphones, etc ...

Re: problem burning to disc
We're happy to troubleshoot with you and the chances of success are pretty good, but it's not going to be fast. You're stuck with this support forum; Audacity doesn't have live phone support. Put the show on a thumb drive and burn it somewhere else until we resolve this. Is this a stereo show? Descr...

Re: help on editing my band live jamming record
What was the APP? I am experimenting with MusicMemo on the iPhone. That's a separate APP download. VoiceMemo is a native APP but it has voice processing, echo rejection and environment suppression. Voices work OK but it hates music. We can't recover a song recorded in VoiceMemo.

Re: Vocal removal creates a scratch-like noise on the track
I have removed dubs from an audio file I'm not sure I follow you. You have a mixed stereo song and you want to remove the vocal? It's not unusual to get surprises when you do that. If the production added stereo theatrical effects or vocal enhancements to the show, the voice will vanish, but all th...
