Re: Eliminating vocals

You don't need me, you can do it yourself. I used Audacity 2.1.2, Effect > Vocal Removal with the default settings. Screen Shot 2017-03-13 at 14.09.28.png It works best if you get the highest quality you can. iTunes has a song price of $1.29 (usd) which usually means you bought high quality rights (...

Re: Exporting to wav

Are the "bad" tracks playing at the right speed, or they're perfectly normal and just get to some arbitrary point and stop dead.

Is it arbitrary? Do they all stop half-way or some other value?

Which Audacity are you using—all three numbers?

Re: Translating Interviews

There may be other ways, but Overdubbing springs to mind immediately. Overdubbing process was designed so you could play an existing drum track (for example) and sing or play multiple parts to it. First guitar, then voice, then violin..... Normally, each part arrives on its own track divorced from t...

Re: Eliminating vocals

The standard Vocal Remover did better than I thought it was going to do. The only parts that are hopeless are the phrases where he goes into stereo harmony. That just kills standard Vocal Removal. It may kill all vocal removal techniques. The heavier remover packages try to locate the singer in spac...

Re: Hi guys !

im recording game That's important. Audacity doesn't do too well with computers running two or more sound programs at once. Games and Skype both have troubles with Audacity. If you're doing a multi-user game, it's even worse. We used to recommend Fraps, but Fraps had troubles with Windows 10 suppor...

Re: Citronic AC-1USB, Audacity and my HiFi

Your device may not arrive in Windows as that exact name. Windows will show the 'USB Data Name" which may have no relationship to the actual device. The Desperation Method is to look at the Windows list before and after you connect the device. The name that comes and goes is the hero. I'm not k...

Re: Hi guys !

That should be the default. Recording what Windows is playing is a special setting. Set up everything you're going to be using, microphone, interface, etc, and only then start Audacity. Look at the Audacity device toolbar and switch to your device. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/device_toolbar.h...

Re: Citronic AC-1USB, Audacity and my HiFi

I don't see any reason for that not to work. My first choice is to connect the Tape Out of your amplifier to the Line-In (Switch to Line, not Phono). That's awkward because you have an actual tape machine, but that may be good for testing anyway. Once working, you can juggle the cables and connectio...

Re: Noise Floor, and background music

I am a grand believer in double recording important performances. It doesn't take many tense chats with the Producer to convince you what a bad idea it is to show up with no work.
