Re: Security problem
My virus protection won't scan it Any idea why that is? It's an executable "EXE" file. I would assume virus protection software would go after that like a hungry dog. Do you have Windows showing you filename extensions? That would be my first step to guard against oddly-named software. My...

Re: Crackling sound over voice - Help!
Each portion of the show arrives as a very high quality, individually-recorded sound file, right? Hopefully, not MP3.... If your only show work is a mixed final from all the performers, you can stop reading now. It's hopeless. There may be a way to partially rescue that one voice file. There are too...

Re: Intermittant LOUD beep
And it's a given the beep is actually in the recording, right, you can point to it in the blue waves? Is it also a given you can export and post a sample of this beep? Use Audacity default WAV, 16-bit, either stereo (ten seconds) or mono (20 seconds). If possible, get a sample of quiet "room to...

The Mac version seems to work. Command+LeftMouse. What does it do when it doesn't work? Just ignores you?
Do you have a million tracks stacked?

Re: how to remove the foreground portion of a voice recordin
If you're talking about the blue waves on the normal Audacity timeline, the lighter waves in the middle more or less represent the loudness of the show and the taller darker blue represents the sharper, louder, crisper, instantaneous parts of the show. It doesn't split up into louder and softer voic...

Re: Hi guys !
OK That's a wave-off. I forgot the iPhone is going to send the files over as Core Audio Files, not WAV. I don't think we ever figured out a good way to convert in Windows.
Sorry.

Re: Hi guys !
from iphone to pc That's where I ran into problems. You can get iTunes for Win10. You have been able to get iTunes for Windows forever. It took them a bit to get a version stable with Win10, but the suggestion is that it works. Connect the iPhone to Windows. This is how my sister used to back up an...

Re: Exporting to wav
Does your top track start from zero? Is it snugged up against the left-hand part of the timeline? Alternately, did you find it convenient for time matching to shooch track one slightly to the right? While your show is mounted with all its tracks one above the other, SOLO one of the broken tracks. I ...

Re: Eliminating vocals
I expect it to work really well if you rip the Audio CD you bought. That's uncompressed WAV and unless the publisher did something magic to it, should work pretty well. The rights manager should be printed on the CD (Warner Records, etc).
