Re: Tinny sounding dynamic mic
Screen Shot 2017-03-17 at 18.55.14.png I don't think these are what you think they are—unless I got the wrong one. Have you used these microphones before? It's never a good sign when the ad says " High Output" and "Extended Response for Clarity." That usually means overly crisp ...

Re: Double-clicking .aup in Windows 10 does nothing
Audacity doesn't like running multiple instances. You can open multiple Audacity widows within the same instance. You can get crossed up if Audacity thinks it's supposed to maintain UNDO for the show you're trying to open in a different window. Just because you have an empty window doesn't mean it's...

Re: Tinny sounding dynamic mic
OK, so we have a field interview recording. How did you record it? On what? Model numbers?
Two microphones? Are they each on their own tracks, say Stereo Left has Microphone One, Stereo Right has Microphone Two?
It will take a minute to pull down the track for listening.

Are all these individual Projects? Given that any one Project consist of two parts: the AUP file which is a XML text file... http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/aupFileGraphic.png ...that tells Audacity what to do with all that stuff in the _DATA folder. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-...

Re: multi track timing off
That's Recording Latency. Overdub a second track and the two are off-time when you play them back. That's the one you can set. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_multi_track_overdubs.html This is a concept picture. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity//pix/GTrackEarBuds.jpg I'm playing ...

If it's an institutional nightmare, you might wait. In 3...2...1... they will be pushing out Audacity 2.1.3.

Re: can't hear my recording
Unplug the USB microphones. Sometimes, Windows will try to send sound back to the microphone instead of the speakers. You can set that with the Audacity Device Toolbar.

Re: in: 96 kHz, 24 bit, out: 44.1 kHz, 16 bit
Audacity works internally at 32-Floating and I think it's difficult to change. That's required to get around overload problems some of the filters and effects produce. You can choose different bit depths at Export. 16-bit and 32-floating are available as standard WAV export and you can get to the ot...

Re: Audacity Crashes when Using Effects
Questions that start "I have a class.." prompt us to ask about the configuration of the machines. Audacity doesn't do well with network computers or computers with Network Connected Drives. Is that what you have? Central drives? Are you trying to run a central Audacity to many people? I th...

Re: in: 96 kHz, 24 bit, out: 44.1 kHz, 16 bit
My impression of the question is converting from advanced formats to CD quality, not the other way to. That and nowhere did the poster mention music.High bit processing is a must especially on commercial remastering jobs
