Re: Room Noise Floor -59.6DB Argh!
ACX-Check automatically looks for a "dead" spot in your dialog to measure noise, so you don't have to find one manually. It does have trouble if you didn't leave any silent parts for it to measure. Leave about a second of dead air at the end when you read. I believe ACX has ideas about thi...

Did you meet the other two, peak and RMS? Do you know what the specs mean? http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=297423#p297423 I posted a process to take you from raw recording to finished ACX-Compliant submission, but if you're close with what you have, you may only need a gentle push from...

Re: Isolate sound
not working Did you get the wine-glass effect when you got close? It's critical. There's going to be one magic place when all the effects and interference tones pop up—if it's going to work at all. This whole dance is based on the two samples being identical. Not sorta close, they have to be identi...

Re: Sound quality issue
If the original producer got one version from the other through trickery and fancy software, combining them is never going to round right. That process is not reversible.

Re: Sound quality issue
These are both MP3 downloads, right? Try importing both songs, select one by clicking just above MUTE, and Effect > Invert. Even if it doesn't help, we'd be interested what happens. And also, why would you want this? The question stopped just short of writing the goal. "I need this to work so I...

Re: How to avoid sound discrepancies on a cardiode condenser
I just wanted to post a follow-up. That's a good thing. Some posters get everything working and we never hear from them again so we don't know what worked and what didn't. There's just nothing like starting with a quiet room. That's one major headache you don't have to worry about. Everything else ...

Re: Isolate sound
Yes, the two are mp3 Then you're stuck. Compressed formats like MP3, M4A, etc. cause sound distortion and the damage changes with the music and production. So the two tracks may sound the same, but they're not. Compression's big trick is their ability to hide the compression damage, but it just kil...

Re: Recording With a Mixer
If you go much over about three minutes, the two shows may not sync with each other. One show may be slightly longer due to computer manufacturing variations. You can easily cure that with Effect > Change Speed on one of the two tracks to match the other. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/change_sp...
