Re: High noise floor, hiss, high beep sound
Do they use ACX Technical Standards? You don't have to. ACX Noise Standards, while rough to meet are not all that strict. Is that a Yeti microphone, by any chance? I applied a custom filter called "YetiCurse" to the supplied clip and the beeping went away. I set the RMS (Loudness) using an...

Re: How do I reduce background sound and maintain voice?
Oh, Do Not use MP3 anywhere in the production. Export from Audacity WAV (Microsoft) 16-bit, 48000. MP3 creates sound damage and you can't stop it. Most video editors will accept 48000 sampling rate with no damage and no conversion. If you have to, use 44100 instead and make the video editor convert ...

Re: How do I reduce background sound and maintain voice?
I learn what I am doing Or how to shoot in difficult or impossible conditions. We can't separate a performance into individual voices, instruments, music or sounds. The radio/iPod is now one of the performers in your show. You just have to know that. That's why you can't do interviews in most resta...

Re: tracking live recording into separate wav files
You can place a Label at the beginning and end of each song. If they're close enough, you only need one. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/label_tracks.html Then Export Selected Audio will break up the performance into labeled segments. You still have to figure out which are the songs and which are...

Re: Issue exporting MP3 files
If you go far enough back in versions, I think you have to set it in Audacity Preferences.
Newer versions, such as Audacity 2.1.3 which you can get from here...
http://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/
...ask you where you want it. See third dialog.

Re: recording device error
Well, if you really didn't change anything and you have a USB microphone, could you have started Audacity and then plugged the microphone in? Always plug the microphone in first. Is it possible the USB connection is not firm? If none of that is even close, you'll have to supply the microphone type, ...

I mean separately, not with each other. We're happy to help no matter which time zone you're in. If you're really happy, you may have n...

Re: Can't get guitars to record
The pedal has a place to plug headphones. Do they work? Is the pedal actually making sound? There is a USB software driver and a thing called X-Edit Librarian software that can control the volume and mix of the music. I don't know what that is, but it seems you might be able to misadjust those and f...

Re: Help with .autosave recovery
You should have an AUP file and a _DATA folder of the same name. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg If you open the AUP file in a text editor, is there anything in it? That looks like a fairly standard dialog when Audacity doesn't know what to do. Were you saving periodic...

Try the ground lifter thing first. You can do that for 39c usd. You are looking for the problem to either go away or change. If it changes, post back what happened.
