Re: Podcast phone interviews
how to do this stuff the right way. That may be pushing it a little. Put three audio professionals in a room and they'll do a job different ways. I attend talks and pick up hints and techniques every time. "Wait. Give me that again. You wrap the microphone in surgical gauze...?" I really ...

Re: Which mic better
Mic B is the Rode NT1A That's the microphone used in the ACX demonstration video. They like it, too. I felt I needed to boost the bass on B. LF-Rolloff for Speech equalization helps with low-pitch noise, but does have an observable effect on low pitch voices, so there you might have two equalizatio...

Re: Which mic better
I predict (holding fingers to forehead) B is the older microphone but you are going to insist on using A because of your preconceived brand ideas.

Re: Which mic better
A wins the noise contest by the smallest possible amount: 1dB. I applied loudness and limiter processing to both clips and both meet ACX AudioBook specifications for RMS (loudness) and blue wave Peak. But only A makes noise with no further work. However. The difference between them is so tiny, I wou...

Re: Installing ASIO in Audacity
You have a couple of odd things in your post. You don't install ASIO in Audacity. You create a whole new Audacity by compiling with ASIO services. DennisTheNewbee Have you ever compiled a program? You could be an old hand with years compiling computer programs and just an Audacity newbee. Koz

Re: Skype audio
My skype audio is coming in too hot. There's a first. Audacity does not do well recording Skype and the complaint is almost always your voice is OK and the far side voice is either too low, distorted or zero. Is that the real question? I can't think of a condition where the far side voice would be ...

Re: Code for a Bell Tone
How do you expect that to play, given neither of us could get it to work?It generates a 2 second "ringing bell" type sound.
I don't seem to have Generate > Nyquist. If I give the appearance of being clue-free, it's only because I am. And no, I don't think it's a code problem.

Re: Muffled Voice
This is a "Middle Of The Movie" forum post. We walked in to the movie with the popcorn, but it had already been running for 45 minutes and we're lost. The question should read: I'm using a standard Blue Yeti microphone to record my voice for an AudioBook. I'm recording in Audacity 2.1.3 in...

Re: Code for a Bell Tone
I had a different problem. I'm in Audacity 2.1.3. Nyquist Prompt is not available with a blank window, and the code seems to do nothing if I apply it to one minute of silence.
I kind of follow the code, but what is expected?
