Re: Running Audacity on basic laptop eMMC storage
we use to record church sermons If this isn't bad enough yet, I can make it worse. Almost no new portable machines have sound connections on the side. Mic-In, Headset-In, or Headphone-Out cannot in general connect to a mixer or other sound system for recording. What or how is it recording—in detail...

Re: Can I Create a Single File with Navigable Chapters?
once you've bought an audio book from them Actually, if I had to guess at it, you buy the work from them—probably encrypted—and a rights manager/player. Also, I'm completely sure, wrapped up in an APP for phone users. My audiobooks are all in hardware, so I never ran into this. Absent the encryptio...

Just to split the problem in two, save the plugin to the desktop and then drag it to the plugins folder. Which half dies?

I guess???Is this progressing far enough to move to the Nyquist board for new plugins?
I keep waiting for someone to be horrified over some mistake.
Isn't that where I write Purpose, Use and Comments? Shouldn't I write that first?

Re: 16 bit PCM vs 32 bit float for ripped from CD
Audio CDs are produced in 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. The file structure is a little wacky to get as much music on the disk as possible, but the music itself is of that quality. If all you're doing is "converting" from hardware to files, a simple ripper to 44100, 16-bit, Stereo will give a perf...

Re: Always an additional "-project data" folder
If I download a new plug-in such as RMS Normalize and save it in this Plug-Ins folder, will Audacity v2.1.3 automatically recognize it for use as an Effect? No. You have to Effect > Add / Remove Plugins. I'd like to rename an existing project. The Project name is burned into the AUP file and you ca...

Re: Help me with RMS levels and mastering for ACX
Here's a clip from one my favorite voice performers, Molly Wood from NPR Marketplace. I couldn't easily find a self-contained clip without the music. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/clips/MollyWoodMarketplaceClip.mp3 We had a graphic artist who could do that. He would give talks and travelogs over lu...

Re: Recording Produces Flat Blue Line
We're all going to look really silly if you do that and the new one doesn't work, either.Maybe I should just buy another USB turntable?
Ummmm. This unit is supposed to be able to make a Music CD from a record—stand-alone. Without the computer. Did I get that right and does that work?
