Re: Experienced User Creating Poor Readings
>Carrie Thanks for the speedy reply! They did not tell me how much I missed the mark by, which I find super annoying... and I agree it's good that all the chapters got flagged, but I recorded this project right on the heels of another one, which passed their quality check without issue, so I'm a bit...

Re: Experienced User Creating Poor Readings
Effect > RMS Normalize: Set the target to -20dB. > OK. I expect that to work, yes. The goal is to hit the show chapters between -18dB and -24dB. can I apply it to the .mp3 files You don't do anything to the MP3 files short of maybe admire them. Those are throw-away. MP3 files get more and more dama...

Experienced User Creating Poor Readings
This is a transfer from a separate discussion. ======================================== >Carrie Hi Koz! Long time no talk :) That's a good thing, I think! I've produced over a dozen books through ACX since we last spoke, all without a hitch... until now [grumpy face]. Just got an email from them tha...

Re: Export Problem
If you mean stereo effects, is the exported show in stereo? Does it have two blue waves and are they different? Did you use File > Export Audio or File > Export Selected Audio?

Re: USB Whine FIltering (Yeti Curse)
I'm guessing Blue Microphones wouldn't be too happy about publishing "Yeti Curse" in the documents. I might leave that one out.all of the names in the description

Re: 16 bit PCM vs 32 bit float for ripped from CD
I do not understand how it applies to conversion to 32 float files. It doesn't apply going up to 32, it can help with distortion and artifacts coming back down. You are resampling to a lower quality format. And none of this affects you as long as all your applications and processes know and accept ...

Re: Cannot Export full audio
You can Save the work as an Audacity Project. Someone will post how much work you can save like that, but Projects can be brittle and that's not recommended for archive safety. What's the work? Is your next post how to dig voices out of background noise? Was this a bird microphone in the forest—midd...

Re: Cannot Export full audio
What format? WAV (Microsoft) poops out at either 2GB or 4GB depending on what you're going to use it for. That's one is pretty vicious. You play the WAV file back and you only get the last fifteen minutes of the multi-hour show. WAV got to the end of its abilities and just dropped everything and sta...

Re: USB Whine FIltering (Yeti Curse)
Only some compare it to a "mosquito". I bet it's safe I'm the only one that calls it the Yeti Curse. Since the whine has no easy, natural name, I suspect a majority (or all) the time we will be pointing a poster to it. Nobody is going to find it on their own. I guess if I'm clever with th...
