I didn't check with the OED, but other authorities assure me both mosquitoes and mosquitos are acceptable. The "e" version looks better. There's still one sentence that didn't come out quite right.
There may also be a code error. I've been testing with a non-standard version.

Re: USB Whine FIltering (Yeti Curse)
I'll straighten that out. The nomenclature didn't keep up with the code.

Re: Experienced User Creating Poor Readings
We're going to cheat. Select the clip. Effect > Amplify: 7dB (top number), [X] Allow Clipping > OK. I expect the blue waves to get bigger when you do that. Effect > Limiter: Soft Limit, 0, 0, -3.5, 10, No > OK Run ACX Check. I am doing manually what the newer tools do automatically. I got the 7dB va...

Re: Mastering an ACX Fail
Equalizing, Normalizing and Compressing, Ahhh. No. They're talking about changing the quality of your voice. If I did it right, all the "Mastering" tools leave you sounding the same as you started out. The LF-Rolloff thing appears in Equalization, but primarily affects thunder, trucks pas...

Re: Mastering an ACX Fail
It's been fun keeping up with this. As I posted on a sister message, I wrote an Audiobook Mastering paper which is now about 2/3 out of date. SetRMS would set loudness in many different versions of Audacity, but was "oil-based paint drying slow." RMS Normalize is much better behaved and mu...

Re: Recording vinyl albums multiple tracks/adding labels
I recently recorded both sides of an album If you pressed Stop between the two sides, Audacity will start over at time zero with a second track under the first one and play them both at once. That's not deadly. You can fix the alignment with Tracks > Align Tracks > Align End to End. That's from mem...

Re: Help me with RMS levels and mastering for ACX
I have 10 (out of 19) chapters too loud Do you know about ACX-Check? That's an Analyze tool that automatically reads out (among other things) the three important AudioBook settings. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=297423#p297423 http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=310702#p31...

Re: Importing PCM Data
It's not unusual for Audacity to not support every single metadata flag. Could that be it? Some of those flags can contain tons of data.
