Re: How to extend boundary/region?
Audacity is a destructive editor? !!! Correct. if I don't carefully find the zero crossing. You can use very rapid cross-fades and stop worrying about the cut points. The cut points may not work anyway if you have wide field stereo. You'll never get both Left and Right to cut silent. There's some d...

Re: Timer recording
My spidey sense tells me you're trying to capture on-line work and have it come out presentation perfect right out of the box. If you know even basic editing, you should be able to record with "handles" (more at the top and bottom than you need) and then just cut it down later, after you g...

Re: Timer recording
Did you contact them? If you have license keys or other certification, they should be able to get you going again.I use to use the Easy Hi Q recorder that was very simple but after doing a system restore it will not work anymore.

Re: Timer recording
Timer is the only way Audacity does jobs like this. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/timer_record.html Set a timed event the duration (or longer to account for errors) and set it to start recording in a minute or so. Quickly after the recording starts, play the on-line work. You might want to do a...

Re: Using OS X Yosemite: Recording issues using Skype
I guess I'm stuck with a badly recorded interview. Is this the first time you tried a capture? Recording Skype is not fun. Set the whole thing up as if you were going to do a production and have a friend do a test call from the garage. That should tell you the file structure, locations, process and...

Re: How to extend boundary/region?
You go back to the high quality, uncompressed WAV copy you made of the full, original work and recut it. If you cut the work and never closed Audacity , you can use Edit > UNDO to bring the deleted work back. If you closed Audacity with no backup, that's the end of the world. Audacity, even Audacity...

Re: Using OS X Yosemite: Recording issues using Skype
You are probably recording the Skype error content, not the actual voice. Skype does not "Play Well With Others." I did it with two computers and an analog sound mixer. Most people are going to want a purpose-built app.

Re: problem with gaining and volume
I thought it worked from managing blocks of speech. I'd be shocked if it could recognize actual content....for two voices.

Re: selecting section within track for editing
I CAN'T select a portion of the track. Dueling posts. Are you in Stop? One of the classic Audacity problems is the tools act funny or stop working if you're in Pause or anything but Stop. I'm unfamiliar with scrubbing. That's because you're not a video editor. Audacity makes video editors crazy bec...
