Re: Preventing clipping when mixing audio and music.
That overload thing is something Audacity does to keep you out of trouble when you're applying effects, filters, and corrections. Audacity doesn't run internally at normal 16-bit digital. It uses 32-bit floating which effectively doesn't overload at 0dB like WAV files do. That means as long as you'r...

Re: Preventing clipping when mixing audio and music.
The bouncing sound meter will always tell you what the total sound volume is. I don't use the default meters. I change the meter range to 96dB (total digital range) and pull them across the whole Audacity window. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MeterRange-96dB.png If there is any doubt, you ...

Re: behringer UM2 can't connect guitar on Line 2
If you set and capture the UM2 in stereo, the XLR microphone will appear on the left and the instrument input on the right. If you capture in mono, The XLR microphone will appear, but not the instrument. I don't know what happens to the UM2 headphone monitor. I haven't tried that. Quick note. The UM...

MacOS 10.13.6 .. Audacity 2.4.2. I'm trying to do an actual simple editing job. Be very afraid. Step one, get rid of all the little clocks. I don't know how I did it either, but Google knew. There is no split and push, is there? Pick a point in the mid-waveform, click/split and push the right-hand p...

So something in that particular software allowed me to record with my at2020. ASIO support by any chance? ASIO supplies a "shortcut" sound pathway that avoids the long, slow trip through the computer processing. ASIO is also pay-to-play software. See: "80 dollar product" Koz

Which Audacity are you using? Help > About. Did you have an event? Computer instability? Audacity crashed? Computer starting to run out of room? This is an Audacity Project. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg Both parts have to be there, they have to be named the sam...

Re: Help with fixing tinny/boxy/muddy audio talk
the speakers at our events should be encouraged to wear headsets. Please watch the words. They should wear headphones or at least some method of hearing the conference without it appearing out loud in the room. I see several presenters using earbuds. You can tell because of the thin white wire with...

Re: Types of Audio Subliminals
Details are good, such as how to test the product to make sure your "manufacture" is correct and then how to decode or demodulate the product back into the sound you started with. Don't leave out those last two plz.More details and types will be added in the future.
Thanks,

Re: Can Only one voice
Any idea why Aud doesnt record 'both' sides of the call? Yes. Audacity can only record from one "thing." Skype is two things. The microphone belongs to the computer and counts as one thing. The far-side voice is a service of Skype and counts as a second thing. It's not that hard to record...
