Re: click noise on exported mp3 audio

I scrubbed back to the beginning That introduction didn't come out English. You open a sound file and it clicks all over the work? Does it always click in the same places as long as you have the file open? Like can you write down the location of a click and go back to it when you want? Is it still ...

Re: ACX RMS level

There are also ways to check your work as you go to see where you went off the rails. I didn't include them to keep the paper short. If everything goes well, nobody wants to hear painful details about audio theory.

Re: ACX RMS level

I haven't gone around and cleaned up the older versions, yet. SetRMS is the older program. The new Program is RMS Normalize. You also need to know the default RMS Normalize isn't good for audiobooks. Change the setting from -18dB to -20. The updated and checked AudioBook Mastering version 4 is here....

Re: Audio is ruined after exporting

Even odder because when iTunes plays something, it goes over to the shelf, picks up QuickTime and uses that to play the work. They're not separate.

There is one really unusual post that happens every so often. Somebody posts a bogus problem for fun.

Re: Audio is ruined after exporting

@dark3tar15 Something is trying really hard to process your voice. That's what it sounds like with extreme Environment Processing or Noise Reduction. Gargly, bubbly and talking into a wine glass is the signature sound. And you're on a Mac......... Or I'm assuming you're on a Mac. You didn't tell us ...

Re: Silencing the quieter of two identical tracks?

Did you keep the two original performance WAV files? It's not unusual for us to want samples of those instead of any failure edits. And just to cover it, do you get old style performance quality if you just cram those to together as if you had recorded it the old way?

Re: Silencing the quieter of two identical tracks?

What happens if they both talk at once? One of the problems with athletic post-production is the need to restrict the performance. "Oop. We both talked at the same time. We'll have to record that part over again ." Previously, we've exported the file as a single combined feed If you have ...

Re: Silencing the quieter of two identical tracks?

Conjugate the verb "to duck."

Leaving you with two tracks and the echo of each. What happens if they both talk at once?

Re: Silencing the quieter of two identical tracks?

And to save you some typing, no you can't use math cancellation techniques. That and almost all these tricks fall apart if you like to talk over each other. Talk-over can sound pretty cool if done in moderation, but it just kills you in post-production.

Re: Silencing the quieter of two identical tracks?

.....to one track. My impression is you want to tick back and forth between both tracks. It makes my head hurt what would happen if you tried to launch two instances at once - if you even can. Even if you got one to work, that would mute the opposing track, not the echo of track 2 in track 1. You're...
