Re: can't find my files
If you used Audacity Projects you might be able to search for the individual files. This is an Audacity Project. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg The two have to be in the same location, folder, or directory. They have to be named the same and it has to be the name...

Re: trying to adjust latency with usb mic and scarlett
I suspect we're talking about two different microphones. This one? Screen Shot 2021-02-07 at 4.30.46 PM.png Sure. Plug that straight into your Solo with an XLR cable... https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/XLR-Cable-500.jpg ...and plug your wired headphones into the Solo. You might need an adapte...

Re: Need hardware to convert analog to digital?
I am able to record LPs as MP3 files (using the "Line In" jack) and play back the files. What he said. If you have a "real" Line-In on a desktop machine (blue connector). https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/soundCardFinal2.jpg Or an older Mac (on the left). https://www.kozco...

Re: 3 Mics & 1 has a Horrible Low Echo
3 mics, all on and plugged in How did you record 3 microphones, which microphones, and plugged into what? We can't see your system and we have to build it from what you tell us. sounds like the individual is significantly far away from the microphone If I had to guess, I'd say that performer was be...

Re: Cleaning up: which order to use filters?
You know at the end of the tape where you hear that background ffffffffffff sound? That's what you use Noise Reduction for. And even then if you overdo it, it may make some of the music sound a little talking in a milk jug. Noise is not "Everything I Don't Want." As DVDdoug above,we can't ...

Re: Audacity on my phone?
There are sound recording apps for the phone. The iPhone has Voice Memo native, but more to your question, it also has downloadable Music Memo which is adjustable and has no automatic voice processing. Move the sound files into your Audacity machine. We should remember Audacity is not a vast corpora...

Re: Pitch change in recording
Pure pitch change is pretty hard to do. But Speed Change, pitch and duration, is a snap. Just mess up the sampling rate.
Precisely defining the problem is good.

Re: Best way to store mp3?
As you note, putting WAV in the process doesn't cure anything, but that's a good format for archives. MP3 is a time-delay land mine. You know if you make an MP3 from an MP3, the quality gets worse. The damage doesn't quite double, but if you're close to the limit of hearing, you will be able to tell...

Re: EQ in Audacity 2.0.5
One item to know. The New and Exciting Audacity has a SELECT button to the left of the blue waves, but earlier versions didn't have that. You had to know that the little area to the right of the up arrow is the "track select landing zone." Click that. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pi...
