Re: "Worms" reading
I presented into the rear of the unit, that being the "front" of the microphone. But that's not how it's intended to be used. If I present into the screen side, the voice is a good deal more mellow and "muffled." That may take care of the harshness of the sound, but it becomes mu...

Re: "Worms" reading
I guess that your instructions will also apply Regard any large gathering of people with everyone staring into an iPhone or equivalent. Why would I buy a Zoom? That iPod is an iPhone without the dial tone. To your point, I've had troubles with personal recorders "helping me" in the backgr...

Re: Muffled/low recording for a NEWBIE
And if you're on a laptop, it's also possible you're really recording on the laptop built-in microphone by accident. You can try the scratch test. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/clips/ScratchTest2.mp3 As a fuzzy rule, you speak into the side with the logo or lights. Screen Shot 2017-07-08 at 3.57.23...

Re: Unable to record from DJ mixer to Audacity
After reformatting my laptop That's a pretty serious move. Why did you do that? If nothing else works, this is the desperation method. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo-650.jpg Thats a Behringer UCA-202. It's bidirectional stereo and has local monitoring. Does your laptop lo...

Re: Unable to record from DJ mixer to Audacity
Audacity doesn't support ASIO unless you recompiled the Audacity Program. Did you do that? If you don't know what that means, you didn't. Recompiling lives in your memory for a long time.

Re: Unable to record from DJ mixer to Audacity
Stop using ASIO and Stereo Mix. Use the plain Audacity. Change the Windows audio settings so it can "see" the stereo Line-In (that I'm assuming you have). After that, set Audacity to see the same thing and the mixer sound should arrive in perfect order. I recently did this with my Win7 mac...

"Worms" reading
This is an insanely bad reading of a short story I wrote a while ago. It's 1:15. I read it into one of these: http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/iPod-MicStand-500.jpg In my quiet third bedroom. The raw work has the main AudioBook Mastering suite applied to it. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic...

I split the diagnosis there. Nobody wrote you can't have more than one problem.

Re: Can't open/import files in Audacity.
I recently installed Java runtime on my PC. Should I not have done that? I don't think that makes any difference one way or the other, I was much more concerned with the reference to Oracle. Are all these drives internal? You may have turned over a rock. I've never used Control/Command-W. Does Auda...

Re: Muffled/low recording for a NEWBIE
I agree, but one reviewer managed to put it through test with just 5 volts. This microphone states that it requires 48v of phantom power, however, I have completed multiple tests using a USB audio adapter (which provides a maximum of 5v to the microphone) and it seems to work perfectly fine. It DOES...
