Re: Floor microphone stand or desk arm stand?
The stand doesn't do noise isolation. That's the job of the shock mount. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/AKGShockMount-500T.jpg What's your room like? That more than anything else will tell you what your sound is going to be like. MBP_StarbucksStudioShoot-500w.jpg You can't see it in this pix, bu...

The "reset everything" checkmark on the Windows installer is desirable.I'll have a think about putting some advice in the Manual along those lines

Re: How Can I separate two recordings that mixed
There are some exotic possibilities. Is one performance on Left and the other on Right? That's easy to fix. I'm guessing not. You probably have a simple mix.
I know it's not a simple interview. Sometimes you can rescue those by editing word by word.

Re: How Can I separate two recordings that mixed
After recording, pausing and restarting That's not what they did. They pressed Stop and then Record again. Audacity would have started a brand new recording on a separate timeline underneath the first recording and tried to play them both at once when the performance was completed. It's possible to...

Re: No audio on CD recording
There's a CD Burn quick trick. Only the Audio CD tools asks you if you want to change the gap between songs. The default is two seconds. The other burning options don't have that setting. The other burning options may produce "magic" disks; they play on the computer, but not in your older ...

Burn it off, Hose it down.
One generally accepted method of solving application issues is to reinstall it and make it start over. Audacity doesn't start over because of the hang-over effect caused by saving effects, plugins, setups and configs for graceful upgrades. Unfortunately, this just kills you if you do have damage in ...

Re: Audacity Quits Unexpectedly (error message included)
That's the detail error. What did it say to you when it first had the error? Unable to open something? Did Audacity just vanish? What were you trying to do when it did that?

Re: Tips on zooming into loop start/end points.
For a lot of casual use and production, the Command key substitutes for the Windows Control key. However, if your thing is the heavier Mac Terminal and Unix tools, then the Control key returns to its rightful place. If that sentence didn't mean anything to you, don't worry about it. Mac is built on ...
