Re: Mp3 timing different than audacity file!`

Also note nowhere in this did we advocate Saving an Audacity Project. You need that if you wanted to save the step where you had all the tracks one above the other. Projects can do that. But Projects can be brittle and hard to understand. Export the WAV files anyway and then the Project in addition ...

Re: Mp3 timing different than audacity file!`

I'm no editing genius. That's only one way to do it, but if you have a simple podcast, it may be the simplest way. Note that first WAV you made when you got done with the cat? Save That WAV on a separate thumb drive or safe place and Do Not change it . Edit and correct a copy of that file. If your s...

Re: Mp3 timing different than audacity file!`

I'm using MP3 because I thought that was best for a podcast. It's best for posting , not for production. Each time you make a change to an MP3, the quality takes a hit. The show lengths vary from about 35 to 45 minutes Cool. Say a 40 minute show. You do the Performance however you want—interviews, ...

Re: Audacity 2.1.3 deleting more than selected

Audacity also deletes the nonselected audio around it. All of it? If you select a bit of a minute clip, the whole minute goes, too? Are you dragging the work for deletion? Does the dragging highlight follow you? Anything magic about the show, like it's six hours long and contains 300 tracks? Descri...

Re: Some sort of echo in recordings. How to eliminate?

And BTW, it has also happened with Skype.
And that's the first alarm bell right there. You can't easily record Skype on a Mac (or any machine) and you can't easily record on-line content on a Mac.

So how are you doing that? What's the setup or software?

Re: Freezing Y axis Display?

Do you want the timeline to stop shifting time (left to right) by itself?

Change the timeline so it doesn't shift by itself:
-- Edit > Preferences > Tracks > [_] Update display while playing. (de-select)
Note: Update Display is good during recording.

Re: Floor microphone stand or desk arm stand?

This can also be done via a landline or a free Google 800 number. Because the call is for coordination only. Neither voice goes through it. There was a poster who used this technique with multiple people in his podcast, but corralling multiple unskilled people into creating their own local recordin...

Re: Floor microphone stand or desk arm stand?

Correct. Once you lose a Skype recording, it's gone.

How should Rocky-B record his voice without interfering with Skype?

Re: Strange oozing sound after using noise reduction

Just a note, the earlier Noise Removal did that wine glass sound as a normal course of events and was almost completely useless in the face of hiss. I'm pretty certain that was the source of the posts about not using the noise tools at all. It's true. Although others liked it, I never got Noise Remo...
