Re: Can't record in Win 10 or after update on older systems
The hardware I can understand. Each Central Processor comes with an impressive list of Known Mistakes. The next processor has its own list, etc. Whoever writes the operating system has to work at all and then work around the errors. By about the third level of that, you just give up. SomeOS will not...

Re: sound file exported no sound
There is a way to get that kind of magic. If you have a stereo file with the left and right blue waves exactly out of step with each other, it may sound a little wacky, but files like that make it through quite a bit of quality control and nobody catches it. Until you play it in a mono sound system ...

After you drag Audacity APP to the trash. Go > Go To Folder Screen Shot 2017-07-20 at 7.31.58 PM.png If you have separate protection copies of all your plugins, outside add-ons and extra programs (highly recommended), then drag the audacity folder to the trash. Look around in there before you do tha...

Re: Can't record in Win 10 or after update on older systems
Windows 10 is not an upgrade. It's a new operating system and it caused some very serious problems with older machines. It's globally recommended that your systems and services have to say "Windows 10." Not just "OK with Windows."

You can change how the buttons work with Edit > Preferences > Tracks > Solo Button [option] > OK.

Re: Stereo to Mono for playback comparison?
I can't seem to find an easy way to do what 50-year-old hi-fi equipment can do at the flick of a switch. Maybe if we were 50 years old....... Make stereo and mono versions of the show one above the other on the timeline. Play, and you can switch between them hot with the MUTE and SOLO buttons. Scre...

Re: Audio Peaks at -0.5 to 0.5 Instead of -1 to 1 Vertical S
Not sure if doing this will result in any slight loss in sound quality I expect Just-Left and Intentional-Mono to give you exactly the same quality. How handy this is depends on your show. If you have live production such as Skype or Game production, this stereo dance thing isn't going to work very...

Re: Can't save a project or export to a file
I would use a name like ShootingStar Is that the whole name? You can get into trouble by including some spaces, punctuation marks, dots, etc. I export or save to my desktop as "safe ground" and then move on from there. Did you start the filename with a space by accident? Are you working w...

Re: Latency test does not record click track
If I understand correctly, the latency issue should remain corrected now. Yes, but. Recording Latency can change if you do silly things like fill up the computer, change drives, etc. Hard drives can slow down as they fill up and external drives (USB, FireWire, Thunderbolt, etc) are not recommended ...

Re: Audacity 2.1.3 deleting more than selected
I don't know what that is, but you might be stuck in a "mode" or condition to get that special cursor. Select the I-Beam from up in the tool collection. See if the problem goes away. Oh, and Steve may be right. You may have an odd timeline condition that won't play right, either. There are...
