Re: Clicks after normalizing
All that but in addition, if you suspect something seriously wacky happening, a clean Windows reboot is good. Shift-Shutdown will do that. That might take longer than you're used to. That's normal. Windows is really starting from scratch.1. Reboot your system.

Re: audacity not recording from realtek internal mic
That's different from the title of the post. If you have a desktop machine, it could have a soundcard but no internal microphone.it just wont record sound from the internal card

Re: Keeping tracks separate until mix? Recording problem
Is it something in my overdub settings? You should be recording from your recording device: microphone, USB adapter, etc, not Stereo Mix or other foldback adapter. People get this one wrong when they like to record YouTube or other internet content and forget this is a special setting incompatible ...

Re: Strain sound on a word
I see the poster likes to change the Audacity meter range to -96dB and expand the meters all the way across the window. I do that. It helps avoid surprises. You would reverse this if you need to speak softer. That's the "let me tell you a secret" voice. You lower your voice and move closer...

Re: Problems with overdub with Behringer UMC202HD
If a forum elf can't help, the desperation method, this being a forum and not a help desk, is to wait for someone else to come along with a HP Spectre laptop with Windows 10 and Behringer U-PHORIA UMC202HD USB audio interface.

Re: Problems with overdub with Behringer UMC202HD
See, I'm not making this up. That's my Mac in the back garden setting up for overdubbing with a Behringer UM2, earbuds and a ratty AKG PA system microphone. OverdubbingSyncSetup.jpg The timeline picture is the first pass with the worse recording latency error (-0.262 seconds, scroll down). The sound...

Re: Problems with overdub with Behringer UMC202HD
As far as I know, the only shortcoming to listening to the machine sound is the inability to hear yourself live in the mix. Your own performance is always going to have "one computer's" worth of echo or delay. That's machine latency and you can't easily stop it. Nobody wrote you have to se...

Re: Synchronizing multiple mp3 files
Do production, filtering, cutting, etc in WAV and then convert one of the compressed formats for use. That can depend on the devices you get to do the playback. This will be a juggling act if you're starting out with download MP3 files. Then you should work and stay in WAV to keep the compression qu...
