Re: Audacity forum test clip
I'm going to avoid theatrical quality control until you get one clip all the way through the system. The tools interact and we could be solving problems that a normal process doesn't have. A note: Overload is fatal. If you have blue waves that go all the way up or down, that may be permanent damage ...

Re: Audacity forum test clip
You have a GREAT VOICE! I agree. RMS Normalize plugin That's concerning. You need all the tools mounted and running to make this work. We reduced the mastering process to the simplest possible, but you can't fudge anything any more or make it up as you go. You have to follow the recipe. Do you have...

Re: 2.1.3 Will NOT Export Files
Try exporting your work to your desktop. Don't let either Audacity or Windows try to use default locations. Will it let you Save Projects? Do that just to get a show saved until we resolve this. Do that to the desktop. That will give you an AUP file and a _DATA folder. They're a matched set. DO Not ...

Re: Normalize always
Do you have a real-world application? This is useful if you want sound to stay on same volume permanently.
Also, it sounds like you might want this to apply to live presentations. Audacity doesn't apply any effects or filters during recording.

Re: Windows 10
Are you the performer? You might need to defeat the Windows microphone and sound processing. Windows sound is designed for conference calls and chat, not music. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#enhancements A common problem with Win10 is it's not an upgrade. I's ...

Re: Keeping tracks separate until mix? Recording problem
just one pressed button that shouldn't have been pressed. Which one? Remember, we have to be able to help someone else who shows up with the same problem. Maybe I'll set for USB input and use the built-in line out for monitoring. Sure, as long as you don't need to listen to yourself. The reason we'...

Re: Correcting Audio Drift with sync video clips
I am looking for ways to correct sync sound audio drift in long video clips ... without affecting pitch. I wouldn't have guessed that. My first choice would be straight speed change and see how it worked out. It's rough to believe a camera went through the effort to resample a performance to make t...

Re: I need help aligning two audio tracks
You're using the idea that you can cancel the two musical tracks leaving the damage. Select one of the two tracks by clicking just above MUTE. Effect > invert. That should give you tracks that will cancel if you line them up right. Use the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black arrows) to push them bac...
