Re: Audacity forum test clip
What do you think? I think you must be doing something wrong. Screen Shot 2017-07-26 at 21.50.32.png I applied the three mastering steps to forum test clip 3.wav exactly as they appear in the mastering suite. Badda bing, badda boom. Out the door. Does the first step, Low Rolloff look like this: Scr...

Re: Correcting Audio Drift with sync video clips
Unless told otherwise, a video editor may assume all the cameras and recorders recorded tracks with a 48000 sample rate (for example). If one of the recorders was recording at 48000.01 instead, that track will have a certain percentage of constant timing and pitch error when played at 48000-even. On...

Or a good book.I really do need a stand for this thing.
You don't need multi-thousand dollar microphones. You just need to be careful with what you got.

Re: Waveforms Disappear After Noise Reduction
According to the microphone instructions, you should be speaking into the side opposite the headphone socket. The headphone plugs into the back. The microphone is a cardioid type (heart or kidney pattern) and has a sound dead spot directly in back. This is a rock band microphone with the same patter...

Re: Normalize always
I don't even know what's a live presentation. Audacity is a post-production editor. It starts with a recording or sound file you already have. Lots of people want us to apply filters or corrections during the recording. Audacity won't do that. One very serious problem of brute force corrections lik...

Re: Waveforms Disappear After Noise Reduction
I changed my mind. You should probably go off the deep end. That explains the high noise reduction numbers. The background noise in your system is stunningly high. I can't get you to a clean reading no matter what I do. Describe your microphone and room. I hear "bathroom" echoes. Does your...

Re: Waveforms Disappear After Noise Reduction
It's not unusual for a New User to go off the deep end when all they needed was a little volume change here and there. I'll listen in a minute. We had a recent poster who, after we got them to record reasonable volume in their studio, was able to pass AudioBook quality standards (barely) with minima...

Re: Audio file with speaker notes
The instructor has requested we submit an audio file WITH speaker notes (transcript) using this program. ...like we did it last week or like we always do it? The collage may have some standard on-line format for doing this. I don't know of any way to force straight MP3 to do it. Could they have mea...

Re: trouble recording in stereo
Lost it there. If you get a "Y" splitter, you can record two copies of your guitar. That does work.
