Does the Mac still chong when you turn it on from power off? That's a system check during power on and it's good to hear that to make sure the machine thinks it's OK. One of the versions, Apple decided not to do that any more and I think that was a terrific mistake.

once per session for my last three sessions. What's a session? Are you recording an AudioBook? One of the Audacity installs liked to put saved work into the Mac Application directory and that caused all sorts of problems. So the real complaint is that a sound recording from YouTube or other on-line content cuts out.

Scroll down to "Out Of Resources." Anything in there?

One quick note. "LF Rolloff for Speech" and "Low Rolloff for Speech" are the same program with a different name. LF Rolloff is the earlier development name. They both do the same thing and I tried both.

Before you go to a lot of fuss, we need to resolve how two people can apply the same tools and get different results. You need to surgically follow not only the tools, but the custom settings.
