Re: Am I Doing This Right?
My process is so tedious, I think I can actually re-record in less time rather than do the rest of the book this way. That's what wearing the Producer's hat is like. Isn't this fun? Do post the test clip. re-read the sentence, and then when in the edit/review phase just clip out the bad one. That's...

Re: Audacity forum test clip
That's the software to make fresh MP3 files. This is what I have. Screen Shot 2017-07-27 at 6.00.22 PM.png Close Audacity. Take that audacity folder from under Application Support and drag it to the trash. Restart Audacity 2.1.3 and it should rebuild all those files and folders. You are on 2.1.3 now...

Re: Audacity forum test clip
Go (top of desktop) > Go To Folder.
Once there, root around in the audacity folder and find the Plug-Ins folder.
After you put stuff in there, you still need to activate the tools in Effect > Add / Remove Plugins.

Re: Audacity forum test clip
The correction suite requires Audacity 2.1.3 or later. That might do it. RMS Normalize doesn't work on earlier Audacity versions.

Re: Am I Doing This Right?
I could listen to a book in that voice. If you used the sock, you may not need as much correction—or any at all. Sometimes excessive Noise Reduction causes harsh peaking, essing and sibilance problems. So solving air conditioner fan noise problems turns out to solve voice quality problems down the l...

Re: Am I Doing This Right?
I'm using Audacity 2.1.0 to record an audiobook (fiction). I just saw that. You're stuck again. Audacity 2.1.3 is required for some of the fancier new tools, but I would not change anything in your current reading. Little sign over my desk: "If you find something that works, hold onto it with ...

Re: Am I Doing This Right?
Any tips as to how to do this better or reduce the long hours it takes, especially for step 8? Any help is appreciated. I'm already most of the way through this book You may already be partially hosed. Changing the process or sound quality in the middle of a book is highly not recommended. ACX is v...

Re: Loss of sound quality when using metronome/rhythm track
You're overdubbing, right? Eventually, you'll be playing all six instruments in a song, one on top of the other? the sound quality of my guitar recording is awful. One of the exercises you're supposed to do before you start clicking, rhythming and overdubbing is make a straight, normal, uncomplicate...

Re: Audacity can't see data folder
Most everything beyond that, frankly, went well over my head. Isn't that just the most fun you've had all day? And these are critical user files. If you open the AUP file in a text editor (do not save anything), the original project (show) name is burned into it. Example: http://kozco.com/tech/auda...

The most modern MacBook Pros do not have the Chong or standard power button.
