Re: Input level rises after 8-9 seconds
The Shure SM7B has an XLR connector, which I don't know what to do with. Do you, Koz, Totally. That's what the Behringer UM2 does. The socket on the front connects to the microphone. Re: Input level rises after 8-9 seconds
Shure SM7B Perfectly lovely microphone. That and the associated accessories and you should be good to go. Sweetwater has a package with cables, stand and CloudLifter. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SM7BCloud Add a Behringer UM2 to interface with USB and you're good to go. That's the little...

Re: Mic audio is not present during recording
laptop via line in Does your laptop actually have blue Line-In socket? Even Macs stopped doing that. Many machines have a Universal connection which generally does a bad job of recording everything. I like the Behringer UCA-202 for recording my analog mixer. It's a good quality, stereo USB interfac...

Re: Mic audio is not present during recording
The book also suggests that the microphone is for the enjoyment of the audience and there is special provision for "music under" so you can be heard clearly. So. The mixer Master Out may be the only way to get the Floor Mix. "Y" cables for a split might be good. You should rememb...

Re: Sound quality is garbage
I wrote a thing on posting a sound sample, but you may be beyond simple posting rules. Yetis can have background noise problems, so do include a second or two of hold-your-breath silence.

Re: Sound quality is garbage
Thanks for all the work, but an AUP isn't a sound file. It's an Audacity Project manager text file. There's a 2MB limit on stuff the forum will let you post. So post mono and if you're in WAV, that will allow super high quality 20 seconds. You can use good quality mono MP3 (128 quality or higher) an...

Re: Sound quality is garbage
when i do i will be recording with pamela and skype and importing an mp3 file to audacity for edit and adding the intro and outro Exactly correct, except we would recommend WAV instead of MP3 unless there's a specific reason like shortage of storage. Do try that list of voice filters and correction...

Re: Sound quality is garbage
It's worth a shot, but I don't entirely agree. Those filters and tools are designed to "clean up" a voice.Suspect is "enhancements" in Windows recording devices, which need to be turned off
They turn to garbage when somebody tries to record music. That just doesn't work.

Re: Sound quality is garbage
It could also be Skype. Do you still get bad recordings if you cold restart the machine (Shift-Shutdown) and start it up with no other communications or conference apps? Audacity is not recommended for recording Skype interviews. Some people do manage to make that work, but they're celebrities. It d...
