Audacity doesn't have Mark In and Mark Out like other editors, but it does have Labels.
http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/label_tracks.html
Labels are sticky/magnetic and you can use then to drag-select a segment.

I had to try it. The other elves are nine hours that way (pointing east), so they won't be back on line for some hours. I posted a note about seemingly generic problems with ticking.it dosent look like any of those are the problem

OK. That's ...odd.Yeah, it just continues recording as if I never stopped it.
A very serious note like that is usually associated with 'why' straight away.Why would you revert to a System Image?
We'll see what the heavy Windows elves are doing.

Bad disks and burner should show up if you try to burn with Window Media.

Is this the cable that came with the Yeti? How long is it? Is this a desktop? Have you tried different USB connections? Someones the ones in front aren't as stable as the ones in rear.

It's pretty certain what's happening. Your recording system is going on a mini-vacation here and there. It's particularly egregious about 10.6 seconds. Attached. Swipe sideways.
