Re: TimeShift Won't Export

The Get Out Of Jail card is generate a silent track by itself (slightly) longer than the show. Select that track and your time shifted work for export. The export time should be perfect.

There's a more convoluted way to do that and I need to look it up.

Re: Bitrate solution?

As you point out in the second sentence, the FFMpeg libraries are doing all the advanced format heavy lifting. That's not an Audacity product. FFMpeg isn't perfect. Several people have posted about inconsistencies or errors in the libraries and it's not unusual for the library version to bump up wit...

Re: Fixing limited audio

Just to be crystal clear, you can continue to use your camera and microphone forever as long as you remember to do that little dance with the bottom audio track. The obsessive engineers are all jumping up and down about fixing it permanently, but I'm in favor of holding on tight if you find somethin...

Re: Pitch change automatically for each new track recorded

I've recorded many tracks before and it never occured until now. The video people run into that. "I've been doing this for months..." As you go, the machine makes changes to itself plus the obvious updates and service management. I think it's still true that Windows 10 only optimizes the ...

Re: Long recording sounds metallic and horrible

I'm not saying it's "easy" and it's probably going to take you a lot more than 1.5 hours, but it's possible. Fuzzy rule, post production takes five times the show, so that's, what? 7.5 hours? Everybody goes into post dedicated to proving that rule wrong. As you may know, on-location movie...

when i got home
Describe your session. Include details. Make a story. You should be good at this, right?

"I packed up my HP laptop, mixer and microphones and headed out to the local restaurant....."

Re: Long recording sounds metallic and horrible

The headphones are plugged into the mixing board, right?

Post some of the work. 10 seconds stereo or 20 seconds mono WAV. Up to two minutes of 128 quality mono MP3. You can't exceed 2MB total.

Re: Hoping I can find some help on a sound issue

While you have Analyze > Plot Spectrum on your screen, use the cursor to find the tips of those little hills on the right. Read the frequencies and calculate the differences. I expect them to be more or less the same distance apart. That's one Nyquist value and you have to guess at the start frequen...
