And this is all using Audacity 2.1.3. I know the other forum elves chase people away from 2.0.3. It's too old and there are too many things not supported.

Find and open Windows Task Manager. (I don't know either. I found it through a Windows Search.)

Press Audacity Play and see what your machine is doing that's more important than what you're doing.
