Re: File gets sped up or something after put into Audacity

Normally, you can take that upside down. If Audacity can't play it, it's not a normal MP3 file. There's an INFO program you can use to tell you what you have. Looking.

You can also tell Windows to unhide file name extensions. This name management thing is handy until something goes wrong.

Re: can not open Audacity

Not Sure if the problems are related. They're totally related. There are pages and pages of complaints about Windows updates crashing apps. Windows 10 is not an "upgrade." it's a new operating system, and your apps, drivers, software and hardware have to be Windows 10 compliant— and say s...

this is something I have wanted to do for some time now. It's something a lot of people have wanted to do for some time now. You want to make an Audio CD without the CD. Play > Skip Forward > Skip Forward > Skip Forward > Play > Skip Backward > Play As you found, there is no generally accepted audi...

Re: Switching USB port causes Audacity not-to record and mor

Your machine seems to have scrambled USB port management. USB management isn't any too good when everything is working perfectly, if you have internal, user-installed hub hardware and the system doesn't know how to deal with it, I bet you're going to get what you got.

Take the internal hub out.

Re: File gets sped up or something after put into Audacity

If the effect is very serious, like the song goes by in a small fraction of the expected time, there's a good chance you're trying to play a song file type that Audacity doesn't recognize. This is made more awkward by Windows insistence on hiding the filename extensions, so you can't tell ahead of t...

Re: Overdubbing - Echo/Latency(?)--------

Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording should never have both Overdub and Playthrough selected at the same time. [X] Overdub should be enough to play the backing track into your headphones and record the new live performance. The only restriction with the system you have is not being able to hear...
