Re: Removing telephone echo on my podcast
my boss is recording on his Mac Is he on headphones? Even earbuds would help. It's the echo cancellation process that gives the distorted audio. There is a completely different way to produce these things. Each location records their own microphone and ships the sound files to you for mixing. None ...

Also see my response to the copy of this posting you also made. It's a terrifically bad idea to double post.
The forum elves see all the postings, so the only thing double posting does is muddy the responses.

Re: Recover removed track?
It's not trash when you have the program open. It's Delete with UNDO. A side note that Audacity Projects don't save UNDO. They save just about everything else but the ability to back up. Once you close Audacity it flushes all its temporary memory and workspaces (like a proper program) and starts ove...

Re: Removing telephone echo on my podcast
This track was not found. Maybe it was moved? Were you hoping to make the recordings sound more like this? http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/clips/DenisePodcastMoreHeavilyCut3.mp3 That's a simple Skype connection between Los Angeles and a house in the wilds of New Jersey. It's a test, not intended for...

Re: Sections of Audio Missing
Recording on a dedicated, stand-alone, high quality audio recorder is always recommended as opposed to struggling with computer recording problems. But to be fair, it's not supposed to do that. And it's totally not supposed to "forget" major segments of the show. That sounds like the machi...

I read that four times and I still can't visualize what you're doing.
Make a show or open an existing one. Save As a different simple show name on your home machine desktop. Close Audacity. Double click the AUP file on the desktop. What happens?

possibly using Audacity this time around As opposed to what? Is this possible? Totally possible. I used to regularly shoot voice tracks on my Mac... http://www.kozco.com/pictures/boothFinished/mixer.jpg ... and ship them up to the video editors on Windows machines. But I didn't use Audacity Project...

Re: What if you double-click the“Audacity” icon in the DMG
We very strongly warn against running Audacity from inside the DMG. Unfortunately, the program will run, but it will be completely unaware of its environment. Depending on how far it gets, reinstalling Audacity doesn't reset Audacity. Audacity keeps separate copies of settings and preferences with t...
