Re: Recording keeps stalling
There is one other item from the graveyard. I think Windows machines still get fragmented. As hard drives get used, they have to break up work to fit in the places available. There's a half-song empty space here and another half-song empty space over there. That's fragmentation and an insanely simpl...

Re: Sent Project with AUP file and .AU files not opening
Without going through the thread again, is this the raw recording? Capture the voices and Save the Project? As a fuzzy rule, we recommend doing all this file juggling and show management with WAV (Microsoft) sound files, not Projects. Projects have a nasty habit of doing tricks like this unless ever...

Re: RIAA EQ for Audacity
I didn't do it this way. I connected my analog turntable to my Hafler preamp (two phono preamps, no waiting) and then on to the analog input of my Mac. Unless you happen to have that combination, that's not going to work for you.

Re: RIAA EQ for Audacity
And just when you thought this was easy, it is not recommended to leave out the "Phono Preamplifier." If you have an analog turntable, you may note that it has three wires, not only two. Left, Right and thin black Protective Ground. The Phono Preamp has a place to connect the ground. It's ...

Re: Recording keeps stalling
It says I have 7.87 out of 8GBs of usable RAM. The system juggles RAM as needed, but it can't do that with the hard drive. It's good to check that although that's not the problem it was on older machines. You need one of the heavy Windows elves. I don't know the Windows tricks-particularly in Win10...

Re: Recording keeps stalling
I installed the Presonus Audiobox it said I had to always plug it into the same USB port I installed it through. Is it safe to plug it into others? That's scary because that makes the install brittle. Change anything and it all stops. But I do believe them. He's right. There are billions of complai...

Re: Exporting file not successful, no extension added
Windows famously does not show you filename extensions on file types it knows about. Did you change Windows so it doesn't hide extensions? The process changes slightly with each Windows version. What did you call the file—what's the exact filename? Or what was the whole filename you expected to work...

Re: Sent Project with AUP file and .AU files not opening
Another problem. The AUP file cannot be inside the _DATA folder. They should be separate but in the same folder or location.

If it still doesn't open, I need to come back in a bit.
