Re: Can't stop recording system sounds
How are you listening? Earmuffs on the headset? If it's speakers, the microphone may be picking up room sound. If it's a gamer headset, is the game running in the background—even napping? Does the headset ( Set of Microphone and Earmuff) have special driver software to work? This one doesn't. It's c...

Re: recording second track-- only records during quiet parts
Are you using your headphones? Did you recently do a Skype, Chat or Conference? These services use custom sound services and don't always put the sound channels back when they're done. Try Cold Shutting Down your machine. Hold Shift and Shutdown. Then Start. When it comes back up, don't start any ot...

Re: Help for newbie - isolating voice
If the TV is a lot quieter than the voice, you might be able to help with Noise Gate. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Noise_Gate Noise Gate is designed to let loud sounds go through and not quiet ones. If they're both about the same volume, I think that's the end of the wor...

Re: Please help :) How can i make my podcast sound warmer
changing my bosses recording to mono That could be a danger sign. Do you know how that recording was done? There are recording techniques that produce damaged voice files that only occasionally fail. They drive people crazy. Yet another problem with flying blind and trying to correct somebody else'...

Re: Sent Project with AUP file and .AU files not opening
If it's the same AUP file you sent earlier, I have it. We're both on Macs. That will put a hitch in our gitalong, so to speak. I think there is a Windows utility that will try to put an AUP-less show back together. Here's the manual posting. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/recovering_crashes_manu...

Re: Looking For Help Getting Started
I believe DAT is 48000, 16-bit, Stereo. It's the same format as Digital Video. It's possible to plug a DAT sound machine into the back of a large, killer Sony DigiBeta television machine and transfer files one to one. Of course, what everybody really wanted was a bulletproof Home Digital Audio forma...
