Re: Noise removal using stored noise profile
I believe Audacity holds onto the last known good noise profile. So if nothing changes, you should only have to get the profile once. Try it. Don't make a new profile. The second and third, etc corrections should continue to be useful. Several tools work like that. If you open the Equalizer, you sho...

Re: Audacity 2.1.3 Crashing on Windows 10!?
On a first impression read, you're overloading memory. At one magic time, your machine runs out of hardware memory and has to start swapping out to the hard drive which will be a serious speed hit. Audacity is a 32-bit app, so it doesn't have screaming access to machine resources. Then there's the a...

Re: Why are my audacity files saving as PDF?
Since making a Portable Document Format file is a paid service, it's super difficult to believe your machine would take it on its own initiative to start making them without your knowledge—or without you writing a check. Something extraordinary is happening to your machine. Do you have any Adobe pro...

Select one of your former .aup files that's tiny (under 2MB) and post it here. Scroll down from a forum text window to where it says Upload Attachment.

Re: Is Audacity Compatible with MacOS High Sierra?
Many of the mainstream tech writers are saying the shift from Sierra to High Sierra was not particularly serious, and they weren't expecting much thunder and lightning certainly compared to some of the other upgrades.

Re: Why are my audacity files saving as PDF?
Did you get Audacity from here? http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ If you didn't, you might want to now and when it asks to reset all preferences and settings, say yes. If you double click one of these new PDF files, does it try to open in Acrobat or Adobe Reader? Any error messages? Do y...

Re: How To Auto Align Tracks and/or Merge all into 1 in orde
A quick note, you should avoid producing your compilation in MP3 because of the increased compression distortion that will cause, and WAV has a stereo size/time limit. The best way out is a higher than normal MP3 quality if you're determined to go that way. There's a good chance of damage if you cho...

Re: How To Auto Align Tracks and/or Merge all into 1 in orde
You should be able to import all your tracks and then Tracks > Align Tracks > Align End to End. One of those options automatically piles them top to bottom, left to right if that's not it.

Re: Cutting and pasting an edit then applying the settings t
It's strongly recommended to make safety WAV copies of the "wrong" track and the raw correction—before you inserted it. If the computer or Audacity does something funny during editing, you could destroy that part of the show.

Re: Cutting and pasting an edit then applying the settings t
It's not "Push A Button," no. Select the word and apply the corrections. You will have to fudge Normalize unless you used a specific boost value. Most people don't, so you will be doing that one by ear. Equalize, and Noise Reduction retain the Last Known Settings, so if you remember which ...
