You get the SBBOD when the Mac takes longer than the expected time to complete a task. So Audacity didn't necessarily crash. It was just waiting for a process to complete. Did Audacity actually vanish by itself? Did you ever wait it out? Have you done any of the Usual Tricks? Shutdown and restart. D...

That's when it gets messy. You cut off about an inch of destroyed and fatigued cable and rebuild it—if there's enough connector left.

which in the case of old church / cathedral organs may be a long way off A440. I'm not surprised. Those gold polished things facing front are pretty, but the lower tones are generated by pipes in the back that look like they were created from left-over packing crates. Doesn't anybody ever dust back...

Are the clicks there when you view the tape without the computer? It's not unheard of for the computer to be creating these noises during the transfer.I've captured VHS

Actually, I'd be much more interested in hearing it. We can derive the pictures from that. Since it's stereo, select 10 seconds of work with noises in it and export WAV (Microsoft).
