Audacity doesn't do much in real time. You can create the tracks as above and zig zag back and forth in post production with the Envelope Tool.

Re: Can I restore my project, if I have only _data dir?
Did you empty your Trash Can? Did you close Audacity? You should be thinking of what to do if the show never comes back. Is it an edited show or production? If it is, that's the end of the world. The AUP file is a list of all your edits, filters, corrections and effects. Without that, you have a _DA...

Re: Recording multiple music sites / youtube at same time
Audacity will record one thing and if that one thing is a single network connection, then you're golden. But you have to mix before Audacity gets the work. This is the manual on recording internal music or shows in Audacity. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_...

Re: Automatically/Smoothly lower volume when combining track
Then you definitely don't want Auto Duck trying to follow your words or sentences.I'd be talking for 30 secs to 1 min at a time
Envelope Tool.

Re: Audacity Project vs. Export WAV
There is a less popular problem, too. Audacity Projects can be brittle compared to WAV. There's no shortage of people posting of Projects that will not open after being saved. The only WAV Exports that may not open are the ones that went over the 2GB and 4GB limits. This typically accounts for peopl...

Re: Audacity Project vs. Export WAV
Export the WAV file. We recommend WAV Export as a backup for Projects and recordings. You will be breaking up a Project into individual WAV files for burning to a CD anyway. There is an upper limit. Keep any one 44100, 16-bit, Stereo WAV file under three hours. That will give you a 1.9GB file and 2G...

So far it's great that Stereo to Mono came back?So far, it is great.
If they're both missing, post a screen grab of that menu like we've been doing.

Re: Automatically/Smoothly lower volume when combining track
Audacity has Auto Duck. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/auto_duck.html You do want to be careful about using that. Constant pumping background music can get annoying after a while. If it's really background music, leave it in the background. Reserve special effects for beginnings and endings. If ...

Re: Recording at a lower pitch
same tempo though. I bet not. I bet if you record an hour show you don't get an hour file. A low or slow recording is a little weird because that means the machine was recording too fast. It's much more normal to record a high pitched and fast show because that means the machine was too busy to rec...
