Re: Putting pre recorded tracks together for choir
will ask them to record their parts with claps at the start. A word about that. They are mirroring the claps you put on the backing track. That's how everybody ends up with the same timing of the first note. This isn't a big problem if you have a song with a good dance beat, but if you're doing an ...

Screen Shot 2021-02-22 at 1.45.15 AM.png That's after applying the Audiobook Mastering Suite of tools. In short, like this. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/AudiobookMasteringSuite.jpg So you could submit that. Noise passes as quieter than -65dB. Yours is -68dB and the ACX limit is -60dB. Qu...

Re: Starting Narrating Adventure and need HELP!!! Pleassssse
Audio-Technica loses points. I dredged through the instructions and they almost told me where the front of the microphone was. This is pretty important because it only receives sound well from the front...wherever that is. I thought I would catch them up because this microphone has a low pitch suppr...

Re: Starting Narrating Adventure and need HELP!!! Pleassssse
You up for an experiment? The Solo knob turns green when you're loud enough and turns red when you get too loud, right? Can you use that instead of looking at the Audacity screen? I can't tell from the instructions where the colors change, but that might be handy. Do a sound test (using your own wor...

Re: Starting Narrating Adventure and need HELP!!! Pleassssse
Remember the shining goal on the hill. Make it sound like natural conversation or at worse, presenting a commercial if that's the job. We note that the technical measurements are only the first battle. They measure that to get you in the door. The second half is a human listening to it for theatrica...

Re: Unable to open .ny downloads
You should probably be in Audacity 2.4.2 rather than 2.3.3. Some earlier Audacity versions had file export problems. https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ Once you get there, Tools > Nyquist Plugin Installer That will install the tool for you. After you install it, open up Analyze > Add/Remove ...

Re: Starting Narrating Adventure and need HELP!!! Pleassssse
Wherever the settings are, that seem, to work. The supplied WAV file is just about the right size and it satisfies ACX Technical testing after I put it through Audiobook Mastering. Screen Shot 2021-02-21 at 1.17.52 PM.png But. Um.. Is that ....... the way you're........ going to read ......... every...

Re: Putting pre recorded tracks together for choir
De-select everything and Track > Mix > Mix and render to a new track. This will give you an additional single track with everything together. Use this track to make sure the volumes aren't too loud or there are any other problems that only show up in Mix. Select View > Show Clipping . that will give...

Re: Putting pre recorded tracks together for choir
Hopefully, all the tracks are in WAV or other uncompressed format. Import the backing track and then each of the singers. They should stack up, one over the other. What provision did y'all make for synchronizing? Some people put a clap track at the beginning of the backing track and the performer cl...
