Re: Microphone Issue
There's a closely guarded conspiracy not to show us the back of the microphone. Even the instruction manual only shows the front. What possible evil could be lurking back there? I downloaded the current instruction manual and it doesn't say anything about running in Windows 10. Did you get Win-10 dr...

Re: Getting rid of noise from a record
I wonder if the problem isn't dust. Dust doesn't have a personality like "only in the first third" or "changes with each cleaning. " The broadcasting people used to have a particular problem of losing the first one or two notes of a song because they had to "back time" ...
Re: file name
Which three-number version of Audacity do you have? Is Audacity stopped and not just paused? Are you using plain filenames: upper and lower case letters, numbers, dash and underscore? I can't think of a normal mistake which will prevent typing characters into a filename box..... Is your flashing cur...

Re: Why does RMS change for Mix and Render when only one tra
I'm checking this is to set correct RMS levels for ACX audio. There is a suite of tools for producing ACX audiobook readings. You don't need to go through that Contrast thing any more and you don't have to cycle through compressors or other gymnastics to set RMS levels. http://forum.audacityteam.or...

Re: Recording my keyboard sound with laptop not working
I have a Behringer UM2 USB adapter. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/UM2usb It will accept an XLR microphone, supply 48 volt phantom power if your microphone needs it and has local monitoring so you can use it for perfect overdubbing. It has an instrument connection, too, so you can plug in y...

Re: Audacity Recordings are Done at High Speed
it sounded like it was recorded at 4 or 5X speed. Actually, it was recorded slow which produces work that plays back at high speed. Audacity is probably struggling with another application to get time in the sound channel. Are you trying to run a game and record at the same time? Audacity doesn't p...

Re: noise reduction does not work
Or change the name of the file. People get in trouble all the time by "stepping on" the old file with corrections instead of creating a completely new file. This can get you into very serious trouble if the machine damages an Export. In one swoop, it can take out the corrections, the edit ...
