Real Time Time
I know Audacity doesn't "do" surveillance, but I wonder if this isn't way harder than it needs to be. I started an intentionally long recording at 22:00 Pacific and stopped it at 07:00. This was a stand-alone recorder and has nothing to do with Audacity. A stand-alone recorder with a bad c...

Re: Audacity 2.2.0 released -- Where to post Erratum?
I think that's a wave-off. I know what happened even if I can't reconstruct the entire performance. All the permissions between the two machines are identical (by actual count). The "Office Machine" (Mini) has a different installer. Screen Shot 2017-11-13 at 18.21.27.png Note the disk imag...

Re: mic mutes by itself
I went to "recording devices" picked Blue Snowball, went to levels and unclicked mute We're in Widows now? The Audacity setting is Preferences > Devices > Recording. There's an actual setting on the panel that seems to change itself? I don't know any Audacity action that could cause that....

I don't as a rule mess with permissions, but I did make that folder as "me" and I've never had troubles launching anything from there including other Audacity Versions. I have more than one machine with that system release. I'll check.

And it's Control-F if you get that far. One keystroke.

Re: For curiosity sake: Instrument "isolation"
I think you were part of an earlier thread for ISSE software. That's supposed to be able to split parts of a performance.

Re: divid one voice from the other
You can plan on that not working. Audacity can't separate a mixed performance into individual voices, instruments or sounds. It's particularly a problem if you need to split two of the same thing, such as two voices. There is one arithmetic "trick" where we can sometimes manage a singer in...

Re: Mic Input Levels Changing Constantly
that's not really very useful for a consistent recording. It makes post production crazy-hard. The reason you're doing all this work is so you can have "clean" tracks to work with when you do your edit. Isn't this happening to the far side voice when you play the thumb drive they sent you...

Re: "Mono" is missing
they rarely say which version of Audacity they are using, and hardly ever update the videos when new versions come out Pretty much the reason Audacity has no official videos. Someone posted, "I made an Audacity demonstration video! Isn't it cool?" One of the forum elves posts back: "...
