Select the Whole Track

What's the party line for selecting the whole track? You can't click just above MUTE any more. It doesn't exist in 2.2.0. Double click the track waves? They're not blue any more, either.

normalizing A note to be careful of your naming. "Normalizing" and "RMS Normalizing" are very different tools. Are you following the ACX Mastering Suite 4? http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=96103 Also there's a note that selecting the whole timeline by click...

Re: Can I find average amplitude over a section of a track?

Home recordings routinely fail noise. Between home style microphones, bad announcing technique, noisy computers and noisy, echoey rooms, that's the characteristic that fails most often. It also has the most variations which is why it was left to its own instructions. Record a test and post it on the...

Re: MIDI KEYBOARD

What's going up and down the cable is MIDI instructions, not Music. You can get the keyboard to play the MIDI module in your computer and then record that. You can also get a MIDI sequencer such as CakeWalk (or equivalent) and use that to make a music file which will then open in Audacity. There was...

Re: Can't turn off Sound Activated Recording

That and what are you doing? What's the job? What are you recording? still it acts as if it is on. You can have a broken condition that makes it appear as if it's on. Audacity gets its sound from Windows, not the microphone or other device. If you have poor connections or ratty driver software, you ...

Re: fixing my mistakes

I have two headset type microphones. One is a Logitech "gamer" type full USB headset and it's pretty awful. It works, but the sound is constricted, honky and low volume. I put it in the garage. The other is a head-mounted theatrical microphone and it's a lot more successful. It takes a sma...

Which Audacity is it—which three numbers—and did you get it from here?

Re: audacity is prone to crashing

undo history probably is exceeding the 32 bit limit of 2 GB sometimes I don't think that affects internal memory or swap space. That's only a WAV file format limit. There is another oddity. "Firefox Content is using 125% of system resources." I don't have any good answers. As I said, Medi...

Re: Beatmatching tracks of nearly identical speeds

Now the cold water. Cancellation techniques almost never work. Somebody, somewhere though it was a good idea to make one really tiny change to one version without applying the same change to the other. Or you could be listening to two different studio mix desks with slightly off sampling frequencies...
