Re: Using USB mic w/headphones for playback as well as monit

You should know that the headphone amplifier inside the microphone is not the biggest in the world. It won't blow your ears off. It's just enough for you to do production in your apartment.

Re: Using USB mic w/headphones for playback as well as monit

Yes. I wrote the original one of those by borrowing a G-Track and trying it. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/samsonGTrackConnections.jpg The Phrase that Pays is "Zero Latency Monitoring." That allows you to hear yourself in real time as you perform. There are still ways to mess that...

Re: Unstable pitch when recording acoustic guitar

I have successfully replaced a mic that didn't work properly with one that does - an inexpensive USB mic. Except this one doesn't work so well, either. What was wrong with the original microphone? The second longest post in forum history is by Bruno in Portugal. He wanted to record Flamenco guitar ...

Re: USB Keyboard Setup

You missed some words. It's a USB MIDI musical keyboard Controller . It needs something to control. A MIDI keyboard doesn't produce music. It produces MIDI instructions that you apply to a MIDI interpreter, sequencer or other MIDI software. It's that software that produces the music and then you can...

Re: Correcting Audio Drift with sync video clips

The drift rate changes with time?!?!? Something is broken. If you can match both ends and the middle is off, that’s not a normal, expected error. It’s either broken, or something is “not suitable for purpose,” a delightful British phrase. Shoot a test. Start an hour sound recording and clap board (o...

Re: Making Help Videos

With bite-size tutorials, minor gaffs can go in the comments I don't know that I agree. The goal is to get the most meaning and technique from a clear video. Not and: "Oh by the way, there's mistakes, see below." I did see a video version of a Man page that worked well. I think I saved th...

Re: Making Help Videos

Another thing that makes me nuts is the videos that assume they're slow-talking to a three-year old. I know how to play the video again if I miss something. Really. It's the miracle of computer technology. I love the CGP Gray videos. Not only does he regularly go at a dead run, I swear he edits out ...

Re: Not picking up sound from mics

Audacity stops picking up any sound from my mics There's a different version of that where the computer loses connection with the Behringer as opposed to just not hearing the microphone. They're different. Does the moving cursor on the Audacity timeline stop dead, or does it keep going with a flat ...

Re: Making Help Videos

I didn’t want to suggest it couldn’t be done, it just far more involved than most people think. It’s a cousin to all the people who smash against quality standards when they first try to record for AudioBooks. I missed one in my wet blanket post. Any elf can edit and correct a text post. By conventi...
