Re: standard add 1 second silence to each new mp3
No, but maybe not for the reason you think. MP3 files make terrible production elements because they don't have fixed gaps before the music. People get burned with this all the time when they try to make a seamless loop. You can try it with Chains which is the Audacity version of Batch. http://manua...

Re: .aup project reading wrong data file
"Audiobook Mastering version 4". There are some tiny upgrades to the forum version of that. I upgraded some of the graphics and corrected an instruction. You can't "select the whole track by clicking just above MUTE" any more. That's not possible in Audacity 2.2.1. You can selec...

Re: .aup project reading wrong data file
You may be reading that one again. Block Files are little six second chunks of sound that make up your show. 212 missing files means you have 21 minutes of missing sound. It's a damaged _DATA folder. No good way to tell what happened. This is why we strongly recommend exporting a WAV of a raw readin...

Re: can't recognise file after exporting wav with Reaper
That's a little odd because I thought Audacity automatically used QuickTime Services.

Re: Installing ACX CHECK PLUG-IN
There is AudioBook Mastering Suite 4. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=96103 The forum version is now a bit more advanced compared to the tutorial version. I need to conform them. All these works assume you can read aloud in an enjoyable manner. If, when you read, people run aw...

Re: Noise Reduction
Not all bad recordings lend themselves to post-production rescue. This is where you back out to the live performance and see where it can be improved. Goals are good. Why are you making the recording? How are you making the recording? Microphone, connection type and computer maker? Environment? If y...

Re: Installing ACX CHECK PLUG-IN
Return with us now to the top of the thread. I need to use the ACX Check Plug-in to check my levels. Why? ACX Check is a special purpose measuring tool most valuable when you are trying to achieve ACX AudioBook Conformance. It pushes all three technical measurements into one info panel for your view...

Re: Reversing Fade In
I think you're stuck. The first bit of a fade-in is almost completely silent. There's nothing to boost. I was going to suggest the envelope tool, but that goes from natural volume down, not silence up to natural volume. Do you have access to the original work? The music or other sound? If you have a...

Re: Off and running, but what audio format to save in?
save this edited version as both WAV and FLAC files on a single hard drive. Then copy these WAV and FLAC files to another separate physical disc for safety. Oddly, I don't agree. People assume the more the merrier, but in backups, if you make them too complex, you stop doing them, or worse, miss ve...
