Re: Setup Issues are Driving Me Crazy
My older Yamaha PSR240 has the round MIDI connections and power supply, but also a sustain pedal and place to connect headphones. I use the headphone connection to play to a recorder or Audacity in a computer. I don't need the MIDI data connection at all for that. Screen Shot 2017-12-22 at 16.35.41....

There is no shortage of YouTube postings how to connect it to your computer. You can use it to play the MIDI interpreter inside your PC an...

Re: Pls help! What settings to change to listen while record
Do you have Windows set so you can record YouTube sound and other on-line content? That's the setting you need to change. That used to be called "record everything playing on the computer." So you should follow these instructions backwards. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recor...

Re: Screen flickering white while moving cursor
I'm reading that again. Does the Audacity screen flicker if you click on a timeline location but don't move the cursor? Can you tell if the flickering is constant no matter how fast you move the cursor? I'm guessing there's no condition where you can get the Audacity screen to "stick" whit...

While your show is open, you can File > Open another instance of Audacity (attached).

Re: Low Volume Some Versions of Windows Media Player
The line output of this goes to the onboard VIA HD (Win10) audio chip line input on the computer. Describe this connection. This is without question the single most likely place to create this damage. We still wouldn't recognize the computer on the street. Desktop? Could it be a bad cartridge? Did ...

Re: Use Wireless Earphones in wired or Wireless mode?
My vote is wired. Audacity is not comfortable with external networks, some external drives and wireless connections of any sort. If for no other good reason, converting into and out of digital can cause delays and I'm betting wireless headphones will not allow you to listen to yourself. Probably the...

Re: Audio File Disappears during Editing
on a different machine It can be a stand-alone recorder. It doesn't have to be a computer. Most people plan on using the computer and are flummoxed when that plan doesn't come out right. What usually happens is the computer fan noise gets into the show, so the choices are announce with no computer ...

Re: Audio File Disappears during Editing
I recorded a 10 minute WAV file Audacity captures your performance in "WAV-ish" format and it's not a file. Audacity can't use actual WAV because many production effects and filters would quickly destroy the work. It's in a super format while you're performing or editing. When I record, I...

Re: Low Volume Some Versions of Windows Media Player
The specific answer is yes, but it's a patch you have to do to all your captures. Open one of the damaged songs. Using the down arrow on the left > Split Stereo Track. Select the newly split bottom track by clicking just to the right of the Up button. Effect > Invert. Select the upper track by click...
