Re: Remove distortion buried within voice

What was it like before you worked on it and do you have anything longer than four seconds? We can't take effects and filters out of a performance. It sounds like you may have created some of the damage yourself. Noise Reduction is not a cure-all.

going to the stereo line-in jack on the computer. Does it explicitly say Stereo Line-In (maybe blue) or is it unlabeled or say Audio-In and you're assuming it's stereo? http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/soundCardFinal2.jpg Does the cable look like this? http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/RCAMi...

Re: Version 2.1.3 hangs up after 12 seconds on "timer record

2.2.1 is available for Windows from here: http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ If you continue to have troubles, you might consider going into manual record and set your Personal Device to ring at the 8 hour mark to walk over and stop it. If you're trying to use your computer for other serv...

Re: Version 2.1.3 hangs up after 12 seconds on "timer record

Can you do it manually? Can you make the recording without the Timer?

What show are you recording for 8 hours? I record radio shows for 27 minutes or 53 minutes.

Re: can anyone remove piano from these song?

Google complains it can't scan the file for viruses.

Anyway, the answer is no. Audacity can't split a song apart into individual musical instruments.

Re: Screen flickering white while moving cursor

It's easy to reach the idea that since this is the first I've heard of a graphic problem like yours and you have a shiny new computer, there's something wrong with your iMac or its system.

Re: Constant static/line noise

If the performance is mono (one timeline wave), drag-select about 20 seconds of reading, File > Export-Selected (this may be different in your Audacity) > WAV (Microsoft) and post it here. Scroll down from a forum text window > Upload Attachment > Browse. If it's stereo, (two waves) send 10 seconds....

Re: Setup Issues are Driving Me Crazy

I wish I could tell you it was a stand-alone instrument, but it's not.

The headphone connection on my keyboards is how I recorded this sound clip.

Re: Setup Issues are Driving Me Crazy

Turns out Microsoft dropped MIDI Mapper from Windows 10. CoolSoft took up the banner.

It's almost 100% chance you're going to have to explain all this to whoever buys it.

Re: Setup Issues are Driving Me Crazy

Now I'm winging it. Mac Garage Band is supposed to know what to do when MIDI instructions start coming down the pipes. From rusty memory, there was a simple, free version of CakeWalk you could use on Windows. Maybe Windows Media can do it. Now you know why somebody left the keyboard out on the front...
