Re: Headphone/Speaker conflict

When I switch off the Blue Tooth speaker, the system automatically switches back and Audacity is recording. Right. So you need to tell whatever foldback services you're using to get the sound from the BlueTooth system and not the regular soundcard. If your BlueTooth drivers don't allow that, it's f...

Re: Headphone/Speaker conflict

Audacity recording audio drops out completely. That's a contradiction if you're recording a simple microphone or other personal performance. If you're recording YouTube sound or other on-line content, then yes this could use some work. Recording on-line content means you have to "fold back&quo...

Re: How to record Skype and Google Hangouts

what's the method when it comes to recording audio for Skype and Google hangouts. Stop using Audacity. Audacity is not recommended for recording Skype, Chat, Conferences or Game Commentary. That's the bumper-sticker reply. It is totally possible to record all those things, but most people don't wan...

Re: audio clip clipped

Download and install the FFMpeg add-on program. That will allow Audacity to open many more different file types than Audacity will alone. http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ Scroll down. Can you see the .mp3 extension on the filename? If you can it's probably not an MP3. Windows will try t...

Re: render spectograms in jpeg or png

Not through Audacity.

Windows 7 has a Snipping Tool program that will allow you to either shoot the whole screen or draw a box around your area of interest. That's how I got this picture of the Control Panel (click the graphic).

Re: Cannot Record In Stereo

Properties/Advanced for Stereo Mix You should not be in Stereo Mix to record a simple tape machine. Stereo Mix's job is to bundle all the sound sources on the machine into one "thing" or "fake" device. That's the one you use to record YouTube video sound. Use the microphone one....

Re: Podcast setup with 4 microphones and Skype

You may have reached the end of what we can do. I know this seems like a help desk, but it really is a forum—users helping each other. If you have questions about an unusual configuration of an interface nobody has ever heard of, your possibility of help from the regular elves may approach zero. So ...

Re: Podcast setup with 4 microphones and Skype

This isn't deadly. You can get off the ground with a very quiet room and a padded (furniture moving pad) round table and an omni-directional microphone in the middle picking up everything (that's why the room needs to be dead). You park a Skype laptop on the table and use it in speakerphone mode. Wi...

Re: Slow work.

There is one problem that's been cropping up more and more. Audacity will work well for the first ten or twelve seconds and then go nuts. I don't know anybody's ever figured out what's doing that, but if you have a borderline machine, it will just stop working.
